Some hotels/GH can arrange pickup from the airport but most tuk-tuk drivers will know where it is. Just in case, get the name of a nearby hotel (larger well known) so you can say "it's near to ABC hotel" happy travels helen

Yes true they have tightened , it is the law now that you the rider must were a helmut , a passenger is not required to do so as they generally have a harder head than the rider , right ?? a moto must also be equipped with mirrors , failure to wear a helmut or have mirrors attached will see your moto put into the back of a truck and taken to the local police station where they will keep it and you for a long period of time in the hope that...

Hello SF_Junketeer, So what have you done about this reputed "incident"? Have you writen to the American Consulate in Phnom Penh ? Have you written to complain to the Cambodian Ambassador at the Consulate in Washington ? Have you written to the Cambodian Minister for Tourism? Have you reported this to the appropriate US Agency on your return to the USA? Or are you just going to be "passive" and do nothing...

Have they traveled much? If so, they will be aware of what to do. If not, just make sure they bring familiar items to keep them in their usual comfort zone. (toiletries, etc)
Most restaurants catering to foreign visitors are pretty close to western hygenic standards, and you will also be able to find a wide variety of western food if your parents don't care for Khmer grub.

We used Soryar for 6 days in Dec 07/Jan 08 and were completely thrilled with his services. His English is wonderful and our family had a great time with him. We stayed at his guest house for a 3 nights and wished we had stayed there the whole time we were in Siem Reap. After a long day of sightseeing Soryar would then drive us into town (about a 5 minute drive) around 6:30 pm to eat and of ...

Hello helloaman,
If you are negotiating a group rate for your group, then at the same time you should have little difficulty in getting the food of your choice at the same time.
It all depends upon how many people you are calling are calling a "group". In the industry, "groups" attract serious discounts and concessions but what constitutes a "group" varies ...

Yes, I do it all the time.

I purchased the Discovery Airpass in September for flights I used from Bangkok-Luang Prabang(round-trip) and Bangkok-Siem Reap(round-trip). In total, it saved me about $100 and I was able to book in advance instead of getting the tickets there (I had no time to mess with that anyhow). I booked all the flights online with teh Bangkok Air representative inthe next city, and wired the ...
