Bali with 2 year old . . .
Published (2009-11-26 02:59:00)
Having a two year really won't cause too many issues for you in Bali and the Balinese love children. You need to work out a budget before any advice can be given re where to stay. As for what to do, have a look through the 'things to do in bali' post above these and decide what best suits you as a family. Come back with more questions when you have perhaps decided on your budget and location for your accommodation. I need to...

Puri Raja or Kusnadi
Published (2009-11-24 03:04:00)
I am not a fan of the Pooey Raja, I think the rooms are small and the grounds not that pretty. The pool is too concrety and gets too warm. People sit at the pool bar ALL day :( It is however in a great location on the beach. The Kusnadi is charming and authentic and i think it has also been refurbished. The grounds are spacious and lovely and the location is just on the bend in Jl, Werkudera, so still excellent for restaurants and the beach....

I would go for the Hyatt. The gardens and grounds are magnificent and it's right on the beach and within easy walking distance along the beachfront wooden path to some great restaurants.

500 000 for a driver for the day for that trip is more than reasonable.
Ubud to Lake Batur would be half day at least. For a half day I would expect to pay about 300 000. Maybe a bit less.

Hot, humid and occasional rain and plenty of sunshine to get a tan. That's how we have found December in Bali on many occasions.

Hello. January is in the wet season and as such it will be hot and humid and you could have a day of rain or just an hour...it is hard to say, but usually the rain will clear after an hour or so to blue skies.
As for an itinerary, check-out the suggestions on the top right hand side of this forum page and also the the things to do. Hopefully you will be able to come up with a ...

There's a wide variety of restaurants in the Bali Collections shopping mall in Nusa Dua . You will find that they are very competitive with one another and you will get lots of 'two for one' offers when you visit the complex. However, when we last visited (some time ago) I don't recall seeing an Indonesian restaurant. I am sure others will be able to give you a more up-to-date idea of ...

make sure she has a good supply of epipens because most restaurants will not understand the intolerance for even a trace of those foods.
I would go shopping with the cook from your villa and for the first day or so, show her what CANNOT be used in cooking or cleaning.
Otherwise she will just have to think very carefully about what she orders in restaurants, but there are ...

One of our favourite things to do of an evening, is to talk to the locals. We stay in smaller properties and the staff aren't so busy after about 8pm. We take snacks and nibbles and drinks and sit with them and have a ball. The nights we don't do it, they ask us if we will visit them tomorrow night. Sometimes other guests see us and come over and join in and it becomes a bit of a party....

It depends where you buy your cocktail, but generally expect to pay between 45-55000Rp. Some places have happy hour where you Buy 1 get 1 Free, but sometimes there are restrictions, such as this only applying to arak cocktails or Bintang (Obsesion in Seminyak has a particularly good happy hour, BOGOF for all drinks until 10pm); you just need to keep your eyes open for offers as you ...

I think it might come down to your accommodation. You will have a great time in either area. Nusa Dua would have to be better I believe, as far as the beach goes, as the surf is a lot rougher and wilder in Seminyak .
Seminyak would have a more varied choice of bars, restaurants and shopping, but during your stay you can easily catch a cab at night to go to different places to ...

I'm afraid I don't know of any villas that you could get at $100USD's. I think you will need to rethink your budget and/or look to stay at a hotel.
If you are going soon to Bali you need to get onto it very quickly. Either way, decide on an area and then do some looking both here on these forums for possible places to stay and also on Google. You will find good shopping and ...

Do you have kids? If you don't DO NOT STAY AT THE DYNASTY! It really is a family hotel and is noisy and busy so if you want a quiet, relaxing holiday do not stay there.
Santika looks lovely, I haven't stayed there but the grounds look really nice and it is beachfront and just near the Dynasty.
I can't comment on Ramayana, hopefully someone else can.

Hi newygirl14
No, you didn't rave on for too long at all - your JBR was great, thanks for writing it. I hope you get to return to Bali very soon, certainly before 27 years are up!
Thanks again.
Cheers
