Severe weather warning for...

Just be careful out there everyone (if you're mad enough to go out!), the whole of Málaga Province has just been upgraded to a full-on high-risk weather warning for today due to floods and high winds. Hardly surprising given the amount of rain we've had in the last 48 hours, and it's still torrential.

As NSG said, last night was full of heavy rain and thunderstorms, and today is even worse looking outside. More torrential rain and thunderstorms. However, i feel this is the tale end of it - at least for a few days anyway so fingers crossed it will be dry for New Years Eve ;-) Venture out at your peril lol CB

Merry Christmas to Everyone

Hi all A very Happy Xmas and Happy and Healthy New Year to you all. For the short time I have been on this forum I have found everybody to be so helpful and totally agree with what Jackiee has said ' no aggrevation on this forum', unlike the rudeness and stupidity you get on the Sharm el Sheikh forum. Are you looking at Málaga city, which is a very large (500,000+ population) working Andalucian city, or at the beach resorts to the west of Málaga airport?
If you're looking west then you have Torremolinos , Benalmádena and Fuengirola at your immediate (short train ride) disposal. Further along you will find Mijas Costa (busy road, no beach, mucho golf) and then Marbella...

So sorry to hear of all that bad weather NoSoy, hope there is some improvement shortly.
To think, just over two weeks ago we were sitting on The Carihuela soaking up all that lovely sunshine.
Hope everyone is having a great Christmas (despite the weather if your out there) and all the best for the New Year.

Hi, we are coming out on 23rd and have kept an eye on forecasts and am gutted to see this! Its freezing here and was hoping to see some sun. I looked at accuweather and saw the same result earlier today. Have got fingers crossed but am packing boots and brolly instead of flip flops and sunglasses. Hope the bars are open as that's where we will be drowning our sorrows, lol

You could contact All Ways Spain, www.allwaysspain.com, they are a very reliable company located in Granada . They offer some fun private tours in Granada as well.

It usually rains quite a lot in Seville in March, so possibly yes from that point of view..
Daytime temperatures in March are usually between 15 and 20C but only maybe 9 or 10 at night.

Sorry, but I just reread my post and didn't mean to imply Granada was not worth a trip. I agree with WomBatt, - It's just a very long daytrip from Sevilla. If you could possibly find 1 night (2 would be even better) for Granada I'd do this versus a daytrip.

I too would like to wish everyone on the forum a Happy Christmas and a good and healthy New Year. We too are in the grip of winter with lots of snow. Very seasonal but not so good when you have to travel in it!

Mercadonna have a huge range of baking products so I assume they will sell Bicarb. (bicarbonato de soda)
I know they sell baking powder (levadura en polvo).
If not try one of the Brit shops like Iceland etc.
Not sure about the orange juice, but you may find it in the freezers.

Take the train to Malaga , there is the Vialia shopping complex at the main railway station (Maria Zambrana). Also only a very short walk across the road is the Larios centre.

Who did you book with? The hotel website ( hoteltrebol.com/english/content/view/15/30/ ) gives price as €50 low season.
For the same price I would prefer the Ibis Centro, 3 star and VERY queit.

you concierge is right
the road is plenty of curves, is just not sensible to travel around there with the current weather forecast if not really a necessity.
but basically ronda is a pleasure to visit with good weather, not when raining. the trip is very scenic, but when you can see teh lanscape! ronda main interest is the bridge over the gorge etc, not so impressive if you ...

Wow, thanks for the recs! Will restaurants tend to have expensive pre-fixe meals as well? Or can we choose to get the entre, dessert and glass of wine of our choice? Thanks again.
