Business Class for trans Atlantic

It would involve a connection to the US, but I would say Air Canada at the moment. They offer what amounts to a mini-suite to each passenger with a totally lie-flat bed. There are three pods across, with privacy screens. The only downside is if you are travelling with someone and wish to converse with them easily. Otherwise food, wine etc. is excellent, and the service attentive. For a direct flight to the US, I would say BA.

Carhirer. I did a Topic some months back on this "Say no to printing your own boarding Cards." At severe risk of this topic getting derailed, I honestly think that BA not yet being a totally OL booking Line, if they tried this the OFT would step in. Lots of folk do not have printers and those that do can fail.

<<BA's scheme is far superior and status much easier to come by than with American's scheme. >> Maybe things have changed, but I recall this; **When I was flying both, i could accumulate miles on American twice as fast as BA (and I mean, the miles needed to get me a free flight, not just the numbers) **With American, its the same number of miles to fly from UK to Hawaii as it is Florida - but with BA,...

If you are flying business class and likely to be making even just a couple of trips, then airmiles can be a big consideration depending where you normally go, a couple of trips can get you a free flight to the US with some, with others (for example BA and their miserly scheme) it might be 2 or 3x more trips. I cant speak for other US carriers but American Airlines have a pretty good frequent flyer scheme and of course would link up well with...

If it would make you feel better, if you booked through BA, you can call them and ask for the Qantas record locator number.

Hi, Air Asia addresses this specific question on their FAQ's. You will need to email them at AirportTaxRefund@airasia.com with all pertinent details. They will refund the airport imposed taxes MINUS an administrative charge (varies by country of departure) and remit the balance (if any) to the original passenger, and in the original form of payment. After you send the email they will acknowledge within 15 days, but there is no mention of...

The other thing about both RyanAir and EzyJet was that the planes were new and very clean unlike the Air NZ plane we took from Auckland to Adelaide which was old and grubby and the cover on my seat was actually torn.

I can't quite see where all the fuss / confusion is coming from. I booked premium seats for our January 2010 honeymoon to mexico as part of a package, via our travel agent. I phoned them last week to ask about booking specific seats and they said "no problem". They gave me my Thomas Cook flight reference code which enabled me to log into the TC "your seat / your choice" website. I then ...

You do of course realise that the two main aiports in Paris - CDG and Orly are both way out of the city and are at least a 45min train ride with the cost pp about the same as your bus trip.
Re your other complaints - most people who have been anywhere near TA in the past 5 years will have known all about them in advance.

Have you looked at breaking the ticket up? Buying a separate GLA-LHR-GLA and LHR-SIN-LHR tickets.
BA aren't any more expensive than any other carrier (in economy) for the most part. They know economy class travelers are primarily price driven and little else, that's why when one airline posts a sale competitors on the route almost directly follow suit.
I've ...

Yet another pathetic whinge because someone didn't take out travel insurance to cover a forseeable issue like this.
You bought the tickets with certain Ts&Cs such as the cost to change, plus you decided not to take out travel insurance, its your fault.
Don't imagine any other carrier would act differently, its the same old story of someone buying a restricted ...
