CNF trail conditions - opening...

Yes, thanks for the updates. This thread got me out of the house today to ride this trail for the first time! Considering all the snow I still have here at the house, it's amazing how dry the trails were today. I spent 3 hours this afternoon exploring every inch of the school side trails and had a blast. Man, some of that single track is TIGHT! The woods are beautiful and I can't wait...

When will LRRP dry??

.... Arcadia is to far for me to bother with. I go all the way to that side of town I go to Bluff Creek. Rock'n tight single with home grown tricks and burms. NuDraper in MidWest City is my track. Try and ride it every day at lunch from the Air Force Base, above 40 degs F that is. You guys ever rode near Boulder CO? Way different at 9K feet!! But these rolling hills around here make me see how flat Oklahoma really is.Be safe...

Well, luckily CNF opened up (close to work and home); though, it was still pretty soupy in some spots. But I finally got a ride in! Good thing . . . trails are closed again thanks to MORE rain. bk

Ahh yeah there were a few big trees in the trail at Crabtree on Sunday but they were cleared up when I rode yesterday afternoon. Trails were in pretty good shape all things considered. Glad i got my ride in before being bike-less for 2 weeks.

It is off of 15-501 in between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro . The trails are not complete yet, so you can easily get off of the trail in a few places and onto private land.

Just talked to Beaver Dam and they're still closed. The trails are still wet and there are some "tree issues".

Only gravel roads at Umstead. Doesn't close but if you're looking for trails you won't find any there.

Briar Chapel should be fine, except for one or two spots. Garner is open now. Crabtree is open now as well, but is closed on the 24th for the holidays. Morrisville would probably be decent as well. I may be headed up to briar chapel tomorrow morning/afternoon if you don't know the trails and what to tag along.

Called, still closed. It looks like it will rain some more Christmas day. I would call the park Christmas eve to see if the trails dry by then and try to catch a ride then.

San Lee is mostly good. It's a drive from Raleigh, but a good challenging trail. There has been a LOT of new work done there, the trail is now over 7 miles and growing. Lots of rocks, lots of climbing. THe old stuff is ready to ride, great shape. The new-ish stuff (more than a month old) is mostly good. The stuff done in the last two weeks might be slick in a few places, ...

Quote from: mountaingoat on December 10, 2009, 03:21:01 PM Is anything open today? I think i am spoiled by WV where we rode no matter what. Or didn't care what kind of damage you did to the trail for the future CNF has got mass amount of water on it. Even the fire roads are bad........
