QUOTE(evolskniwt @ Jan 7 2010, 04:42 AM) Haha titchy simply means small. You don't see how the nature of emotions and feelings would affect your actions made in reaction to them? Have you ever made a loving gesture because of that little tug in your heart when you look at someone you love (im using love in the broadest sense, parental, friendship, erotic)? Why on earth should you do that if that little 'tug in your...

SORDID LIVES
Published (2010-01-06 06:04:00)
Sex crimes are not found in only one or two churches. Wherever religious leaders gain strong power over the lives of their followers by claiming to be appointed by god, or because they claim to be privileged by special revelations from "God", it seems that the temptation to use their privileged position to gain sexual favours becomes strong. We could almost say that sex crimes are part and parcel of the religious experience....

QUOTE(One_of_us @ Jan 7 2010, 01:47 AM) If you think my whole life is 'titchy' I can't argue about, because I have not the faintest idea what "titchy" is. But none of your questions affects my whole life. I don't see why my feelings, emotions should be affected by what I think the nature of emotions, feelings are. You have some interesting ideas, like executing contracts for friendship. I...

QUOTE(evolskniwt @ Jan 5 2010, 05:59 AM) Nonsense. There is nothing bad about discussing religion. But I'm positing now that there's nothing wrong with TALKING. Stop confusing the two things. I'm not saying everyone MUST talk. I'm saying its not wrong TO talk. Gosh. WHY is it bad for a 'good neighbour' to discuss religion? is it bad for a good neighbour to discuss food? Or taste in music? Or...

QUOTE(One_of_us @ Jan 5 2010, 02:25 AM) This is hard for me to believe. Where have you seen agnostics so worked up over discussions about religion? (I don't even think a person like you would hang around a group of agnostics long enough to understand what they are arguing about). Tsk tsk... once again you make assumptions. I am really beginning to wonder if you are truly an agnostic with all these assumptions that you...

QUOTE(One_of_us @ Dec 22 2009, 04:28 AM) I can however add that I also found in the church people the willingness to discuss and expand knowledge beyond what is simply taught as truth (this is after all their mission), and had many conversations where believers have been willing to sit down to discuss what the Church teaches and why it takes the stances it has. It all was fine while I listened and asked questions. But when I...

the verse on the gates of hell not prevailing against the church should be interpreted as the church attacking helll and its gates cant hold up. for some reason many christians have interpreted that to be, hell attacking and the church is defending. whoever heard of a kingdom attacking another kingdom with gates?!

过去,是一块磐石,无法改变;未来,是一块泥土,任你雕? ?。新的2010年,我们一起加油!努力!迈进目标。 Our past is cast in stone that we can not change. Our future is like clay, entirely up to us to mould into whatever shape we want. In the new 2010 year, let's work towards achieving our goal and ideals. Happy New Year!

Richard Sipe is an expert on the psychosexual problems of the church's "fathers" - the priests who administer and maintain the church in its parishes. you can find his web-site at http://www.richardsipe.com/ How many Catholic priests maintain their vow of celibacy? Yes, tarot cards are indeed very intriguing. But it is quite true what some people say that Tarot cards have more function then just to be used for predictive readings. A friend of mine says that is rather degratory to the cards, didn't quite feel that way at first... But yes, he's right. I guess something that every tarot card reader should know, is that such a powerful tool ...
