Kyoto-eki kanko annaijo will direct you to the many ryokans around the eki. If you can afford it, I'd recommend the reasonably priced businessman's hotels (they are for men and/or women). My daughter is going to Japan on her honeymoon. Her hotels, most transportation and a few meals are already paid for. How should she pay for any purchases, meals, etc.? I have booked with No.1 Travel, they provide discounts for foreigners. They are affiliated with H.I.S. Travel, which services more Japanese than foreigners. If you visit Tokushima, you shoud stay at Tokushima Apartment Hotels, just google it!

Sorry, haven't tried that specific tour. Hope your first trip to Japan was a great experience. I used to travel there a few times a year for business, but with the down economy, I haven't been back recently. I long to go as it's such a great country!
