From London to....? Jan 9- Feb 7th!
Published (2009-11-26 05:47:00)
If you have time, try to see more of the UK than just London. The rest of the country is really different, and domestic flights are often pretty cheap. Megabuses are incredible value too, although slower, obviously. Edinburgh is almost all World Heritage Site and really gorgeous, Bath is another world heritage site, Oxford is fascinating, Bristol and Manchester are interesting (if not quite as pretty) and have...

Yeh by that I meant I'd book it for you so that you won't incur a charge, you still have to get me the money for it. Dont get any ideas! Or even better (well, you cant now as you dont live here) but just use your ordinary debit card. It's just the credit cards that companies hack on extra fees for. Or even better than that, just go on Easyjet.

wizz air - good or bad

Hmmm, if you want to go to the heart of Trans'vina (sorry can't spell it), then its a 3 hour train journey to the heart of it, and 4-5 hours to Brasov. Trains don't run that often. If you need train times let me know. Also if you stay in Brasov but haven't got accommodation yet, let me know. I know a cheap but fantastic guesthouse in a side street, just 5 min walk from the old town. Also Brasov is a great place to stay if...

my brother and i did trains from prague and i would do that instead of car rental. was really easy and would probably be less stressful and less expensive then a car! Last edited by runner0919 (Today 12:53 PM)

Spain or North Italy???
Published (2009-11-26 05:39:00)
A tough one definately. You could spend a few days in Barcelona and then hop over to the Island of Majorca and get off the beaten track there,You certainley dont need to stick to the tourist resorts but head up into the mountains. I travelled a lot by train in Italy and never had a problem. Rome,Venice,Sienna,Florence. Just about doable in 8 days. Good website for train travel www.trenitalia.it Last edited by pilgrim68 (Today 5:42 AM)

yea, I just travel light and don't leave anything behind that would leave me heart broken if stolen. That way if someone takes off with my clothes I'll just get new ones. Long as u keep your passport and money close like mark said it's all good. Really as long as u have a passport and credit card you'll never be in dire straits. I remember sleeping in hostels hugging my backpack hahaha. Last edited by...

Now at charles de gaulle airport you can rent a phone or a sim card from "QUICKPHONE" company, it's a new service. You have just to ask car rental companies and they call this cellular rental company. You can also contact them or do a reservation from their website rentquickphone

I'm pretty sure the counter option is always available. They just encourage you to print your tickets to save yourself time because depending on the airline and time of day the checkin line can be very long. Also most airlines require you to go to the counter anyway for international fights for extra verification. At least that's been my experience in north and south America.

Personally, almost all the hostels I've stayed in had lockers... But when I have traveled with a dSLR and no locker, it was always in a backpack on me. at night, it slept with me. the only things I leave unsecured in the hostel room is clothing and toiletries. ID(passport)/money/camera/cell/mp3 player are always on me unless there's a locker and a secure locker.

I flew wizzair last week with no trouble or complaints at all. Relatively cheap flight - I know plenty of other people who have flow them and find them ok - better than ryanair generally, although a budget airline will never be as good as the more expensive ones.

Some hostels have lockers, some don't. They nearly always have a room where you can keep your luggage before you can check in or after you check out. And yes, you can leave your stuff during the day, but it's always best to take anything really valuable with you (and better yet to leave it at home, except for things you absolutely need). And HI hostels in some countries have lockout between 10 ...

You're arriving on Christmas Day? Erm, you know theres no transport at all on that day right? Noone will be around, nothing is open, and I'm assuming you're trying to get to Manchester on Boxing Day - did you book a train in advance because if not, you may be totally buggered.

If it was me, I would go to Italy. A smaller country and can get to see more. I think you can get a train from the north ( Milan ) down to Rome in about 4 hours. So a couple of albums on the MP3 player and a magazine and you are there What ever you decide, I wish you happy travels

It depends. The best time of year for events is August, by miles. It is the time of year for “The Festival" – actually about four big festivals (the main arts festival for classical music and traditional theatre, the Fringe for comedy and new theatre, there is a lot of dance as both of those, more street theatre than you can imagine..., I think there is a jazz festival and the literature ...
