I'd like to offer a few ideas for trader who may be struggling or simply not seeing the market as well as they could First one needs to see the market in a context. For this I use daily charts and to frame the action, I use a 200 period EMA (White line) and a shorter 80 period EMA (Blue line). If I can see an area where the market has shown major support in past I locate it using a ...

I'm still only trading 1 lot in the NQ but i plan on adding some more size soon. I'm wondering what the max size you guys think (or know?) that market can handle? I've heard from traders that the ES can handle 500 contracts on a normal day without moving the market more than a tick, and 1000 contracts on higher volume days without major slippage. But what about the NQ? Its obviously ...

I usually watch the ES, NQ, and ER2 simultaneously and in my experience there is not one "leading market" consistently. They will all take turns at leading a move, however it can become very apparent sometimes on which moves are gonna go for gold and which are going to fail based off the action and follow through of the other markets.

Looking back, today was the strangest option expiration day that I have ever witnessed. It all started last night during globex session. At about 9pm EST usually a very quiet period, as I was looking at some long-term charts on my computer, both ES and YM started exploding upward. I thought to myself, that is indeed strange. If there was an unexpected international event, it is usually ...

The lack of a manned physical trading floor for pit trading of futures contracts is a major reason why traders should avoid the all-electronic ICE futures when the Russell 2000 contract moves from the CME in September 2008. This article from the Wall Street Journal should help illustrate why: In Mystery Cotton-Price Spike, Traders Hit by Swirling Forces Alarm over the price ...

Just a quick word, I have taken the DTI courses mentioned in this thread in Mobile, Alabama, and am very pleased with what I have learned and their service. They have terrific "physical" facilities, and their training is top's. Their training room is in the center of their building, kind of circular, also kind of like cinema stadium seating, so that no matter where you sit you have a perfect ...

How do you handle leverage with the E-mini's? I'll use an example: Lets say you have a 100K $ account Lets say your max risk for a trade is 2% of the capital Lets say you use a 2.5 point stop for ES 2.5 x 50$ = 125$ 2% of 100K = 2000$ 2000/125= 16 So your trading size would be 16 contracts (or for each 6250$ you take 1 contract). Is that a good ratio? When do you "become...
