Gavaus, Is the Derivatives exam the same as the Registered Futures and Options Rep's exam? If so, I just kept re-reading and doing the mock questions repeatedly until I was sick of the sight of it. But I passed the exam. If you already have the basics, I don't think it's necessary to take the courses. Grant.

Effectively, there's no minimum. Oanda, for example, has no predefined or minimum trades sizes, so you can literally trade a single USD, EUR, JPY, etc. That means you can trade with only a few quid in your account.

Yes, quite often if the shares go to a really low level they have a consolidation so the price now appears more "solid" eg you may invest in a stock that is 15p but not one that is 1.5.
