Is anyone using Nitrogen for the tires? What do you do? I understand the tire PSI doesn't change as much but does that mean you set the initial pressure higher? Lets take the Nitto NT01s. I'm thinking they should be high 30s hot so normal cold pressure would be 30ish. If you were using nitrogen what would you set the cold pressure to?

Stick with NGK's and stay away from the platinums. I can get you the number tomorrow. I use either 5's or 6's. I think you want the heat range of the 6's.

Does anyone have any real world numbers on this? The stuff that comes out of the hose at the local gas station or home air compressor for that matter is already 80% nitrogen. Does it really make a difference?

The only difference between regular air (75-80% nitrogen) and pure nitrogen is the moisture amount which affects the rate of pressure increase. With pure nitrogen, you know exactly what the increase in pressure with temperature will be, because you know exactly how much moisture is in there. With any type of air, the moisture amount is variable, and furthermore higher than nitrogen, so the pressure change will be higher, and will also be...

I've heard to start 2ish psi higher than you would with regular air. I'd be on the horn to a knowledgable tire guy (like maybe Phil's in NY) to double-check though

I usually run NGKs or similar. Playing with the heat range you use is where you'll see peformance gains, not the +4 or all those other snake oil designs

Niagra Falls is an incredible sight for those of us who grew up in the flat-middle of this country... it would be interesting to see if it is as impressive to someone from Sweden. Regardless, its a good half day adventure.

I guess I'm still closer to a kid than an adult It will probably suck a bit for her, it will be seen as her that caused them to "get caught", even if it wasn't. Well that will indeed open up a spot on the grid for the Sauber Team. I thought that Kobayashi's rather good showing in the last two races might have disuaded them from leaving, guess I was wrong. That sounds similar to what dyno operators use. If you have a shop that does that kind of thing nearby I'd go spy at their setup for ideas
