2009 RAV4 - Headlight Warning

2009 RAV4 - Headlight Warning

yup, there should be a warning of some kind i agree, but that doesn't seem to be the way it's been designed. on the other hand, all newer toyotas have auto off headlights. the key point there though is that if the light stalk is not left in the AUTO position, but rather left in headlight ON position i think it bypasses the auto off feature of the system thus keeping the lights on....

2001 Rav4 4wd Rear diff leak

The diffs have 3 seals - front, and both sides. No opinion on fluids - other than a good synthetic of the correct weight.

1999 rav 4 Horn goes off; rainy...

Horn has gone off in the middle of the night twice in the last two weeks. Both were rainy/wet nights (Long Island, NY). Disconnected the battery until weather cleared up. Was okay til the next wet overnight. Neighbors are not happy! Can you help? Thank you. (Has after market alarm system installed. Til now, car a gem.)

2001 Rav4 4wd Rear diff leak

Thanks, after degreasing , looks like leak is originating from the fill hole. Crush washers were literally crushed. I bought new crush washers from the dealer, drained and refilled with Lucas gear oil 80w90- Will be monitoring the next couple of days. hopefully that was it and no seal issues.

Am currently running 16 inch rims with Yokohama Geolander I/T G072 winter tires 215-70-16 on a 2009 Rav-4 Sport that came with 18 inch rim and Toyo tires. These winter tires are quiet and perform well in snow.

16" rims and tires will also work. 16" tires are cheaper and extra sidewall should provide softer ride.

once you lock the doors with the remote after leaving the vehicle, the lights will turn off.
