Tire Pressure Question?
Published (2009-11-29 14:20:00)
This subject has come up several times over the past few years and like most subjects here the answers vary a great deal. I was taught this procedure years ago by an engineer that worked in the tire industry and also told how to do it by several others involved in both 4X4 and street rods including people at BFG. It is called "Chalking" Get yourself a piece of chalk, kid's sidewalk chalk works well. Go to a nice flat...

Speedo faster or slower?

My speedometer read slow with stock tires. With my 305/65/R17's the speedometer reads exactly correct. The odometer now reads exactly 3% low.

Teflon is applied in either a liquid or powder form and then baked(very similar to powder coating). We heat up 4140 here at our shop as high as 900F - 1,000F. Even these temps are not enought to affect the properties of the steel.

Bummer. I believe they were about $137 a few months back, and came down to $121 for a little while. Glad I got mine while they were that low You can still get the Toyo Open Country A/T in P265/70/17 from treadepot.com for $113/each plus shipping, which is about on par or slightly cheaper than the Nittos from DTD.

Of your choices, I'd be going with the KM2's. The baja claws are badass tires but if you're driving 95% on the road, they will drive you insane with the noise. I have nothing bad to say about the pro comps, I'm just a BFG guy.
