i think i fixed the problem today. Did an oil and filter change and found the filter to be loose, didn't need tools to get it off just used my hand. Thanks for the reply. Daniel _________________ 94 v6 4runner, diff breathers. A work in progress

are you using the original wiring or have you replaced your speaker wires all the way through, sometimes the original wiring is not the best wire to use, and as mentioned above you may even have mixed polarity. It is a more common fault than people will admit to.

Sounds like it was wired to accessories instead of ignition. When wired up and used correctly with other things rewired to what you want, it is a fool proof and simple system.

Ergh so many people doing this I don't know how high the front of yours is, but with the front wound all the way up to the bumpstops it will still be sitting lower at the front, up to you how much of an angle you are willing to put up with. Plenty of different threads on here with part numbers for shocks to suit L/C coils, otherwise you can flex it out yourself and measure.

50mm bodylift+50mm suspension lift is a good combo that will work well. Adding to this with balljoint and diff drop spacers as well as cruiser coils will give it slightly more height and heap of flex in the rear but its onroad manners will suffer. your best bet is the earlier and add sum decent steel barwork all around to improve approach/departure angles and give some protection. Unless you wanna cut all ur factory suspension out and lift it...

G'day guys I've just started looking around for a new (used) work car but also a car I can take off road camping and fishing over the weekends. The 4Runners and Surfs are looking to be a great option. I looked at a 1989 4Runner 4cyl 2.2 ltr manual the other day at it seemed okay.
