I am pretty sure that the knock sensors come back up that line.

Sounds like they've tried to use the Surfs auto hence wont shift. Fuel pump is easy. And no
it aint easy to hook a snorkel up. But you could try using a V6 4runner airbox which fits into the passengers side of the engine bay, currently working thru all of this myself.
From what is written on your ecu the engine is out of a Celsior (Lexus LS400) ...

Yeah just chuck it all in my engine bay, _________________ 1991 4 Runner 3VZE Auto, 2" suspension lift, 2" body lift, front auto locker, 32" muddies. Almost as good as an International Scout.

I am doing an engine conversion soon (not 1UZ tho) and am just wondering what everyone has done fuel wise .
I will be converting my 2LT-II mechanically injected motor to a
turbo charged 3RZ-FE and will need to set-up an according fuel set-up. The whole show is going to be run by an EMS 4424 Stinger ECU which has fuel pump relay control (turns pump on for 4secs then switches off and waits...
