Looking to build a new lot....
Published (2009-12-19 15:18:36)
My lot is 80 x 80 square. It works for me, but I never have more than 15 or 20 in there at a time. I see you are from MO, so I won't make any suggestions related to snow removal. Which is the only thing I would change if I had to rebuild.

Exactly the conclusion me and the boss came to, thanks Brutus, now we have the straps and i have gone back and trained all the other drivers on how to do it right should of put the damaged end on the lift/sling and dolled the rear, that was the conclusion that i came to!

The Art Of Floating!!
Published (2009-12-18 17:31:25)
I wouldn't ever allow my drivers to float a vehicle on any public street. We can get sued in many different ways and this only adds onto this list.. This form of towing is also not industry standard and is not taught in any of the classes that I have attended. Devin

Sounds like the tires were not strapped into the dollies. I won't go as far as to say its impossible to lose them while tied, but very unlikely.

I wheel lift the front Axle sometimes, mostly the rear so I don't have to pull the drive line.As long as it's in specifactions I see no issue. If
it's a F-350 diesel, I sling it every time.......Kenny

If you get a direct owners request you should call the investigating
department to advise them the owner had called your direct--If they were on
the scene and had called a(i guess rotation) then they didnt know prior, Id
go on or try and work out something with the other tower. If I get a
breakdown call or accident,I usually call our local PD, SHP and advise them

we haven,t had a regular day in about 6 months-been slower -but for us use to be 12-15 calls a day was average, have had some very slow days-just this month
weve pick-ed back up again and hope it continues-we are mostly rural & several small cities where our work comes from. I log all calls in a log book and
this month looks good... but prior months were terrible-----------------

Please fill out your profile,No offense with the questions your asking,it
sounds as though you put the cart before the horse. It would have been a
good ideal to get some training and knowledge, before the expense of a
truck, proper insurance tags etc.On your truck, stay with small light cars
and half ton pickups and always pickup the drive axle or remove the
shaft. Most of all get some professional ...

Something similar happened to one of my compeditors a few years ago. There's was on the sling, little toyota tipped over, and drug on it's side. I
don't think they ever figured out how it happened. I would bet the same thing caused both, your's and there's. If you have your driver hook up
exactly the same way to that pickup again, I bet most of the weight on the dollies are on one side. The dolly...

on the side of the road or highway i always have my lightbar on, the more
flashing lights the better because i dont really wanna be hit by another
vehicle.
