QUOTE (gary @ Dec 16 2009, 08:48 PM) Has anyone actually read the above website? the lengthy article regarding the relationship between speed and speed limits, particularly! And on the news today, councils encouraged by goverment to reduce limits to 50mph, yet they know full well it won't do a blind bit of good I wonder if this is similar to America - where most states now have a 50 mph limit-- did does it cut...

A sobering tale Gary; no wonder you feel relieved. I understand in the light of improved DNA profiling the police are re-opening many old cases. All those murderers who thought they'd got away with it must be trembling in their boots! Shame...

QUOTE (John S @ Dec 22 2009, 02:42 PM) Yes, you can - it just locks up your steering - which, in the circumstances could be a good thing. At least it will stop you (the brakes still work). Though you'd be surprised how quickly you lose control of the car with the steering locked. When I was younger and a lot more reckless, I had an Escort with an intermittent short on the stereo. Each time it shorted, it blew a fuse....

26 Years Years On?
Published (2009-12-22 21:17:00)
Another twist today, I 'knew to much' due to my Cousin telling my mum and her passing it onto me. This was the fact the killer had turned up in a pub around 9pm, not long after he had committed the crime, I was talking to my cousin about this afternoon. What I never knew was he and his pal were stood at the bar and either side of him! the landlady was highly suspicious of him in general and infact rasied the alarm as soon as...

I've just taken to going out with a jug of hot water. Pour it a bit at a time, so that the glass gets a chance to absorb the heat. This is what'll prevent the residual water from freezing over and the inside from fogging up with your breath. Many people will tell you that this is a disaster waiting to happen, but I've been doing this for three winters now, with a badly repaired chip in ...

At least its got it off your chest and lifted a huge weight off of your mind ! All I can say is that fair play to the guy that admitted guilt and spared Collettes family from the ordeal or a gruesome trial. The crying shame is that it took so long to catch this scumbag, but fair play to the Police as well for not closing the book on this case all those years ago....

Not sure on this but on another forum where this was being discussed re the usual as in sale of smoke damaged caravans etc when it was sorted, someone else said they had thought along the same lines, but have now been told that it was the service place that was on fire so it was customers vans involved. If this is so- there will be a lot of upset and unhappy people this morning...

He may come across as a bit of a numpty on the TV Jill, but when it comes to wine he's one smart cookie! A few years ago they tested his ability to identify what type of wine he was drinking & he was the top dog out of the various other wine experts they'd lined up. I've always held him in high regard since he pointed out on one wine program that Bulgarian Cabernet Sauvignon tastes of ...

there is no point in a strike if it don't cause an inconvenience to the employer -- and BA being a service industry -- it will affect their customers too.. Do the employees have a right to withdraw their labour? and not get paid. or only when it has no effect on the employer..? The conservatives must be "slightly" worried about this -- as Unite is one of the largest unions -- and if the...
