Uma On A Mobile Phone

Cheers for that - Been digging in the orange business website and it does appear that I can now use my mobile in my cell free house - this is a real result. The calls come off my 600 monthly minutes allowance (which up to now I rarely even use half of). This is the single most useful feature I can think of for someone with crap mobile service. I can also send and receive texts via UMA as well. I was going to swap the BB for an iphone later in...

O2 have been very good on the changeover, effortless and it is now much much faster than Eclipse. A bit more expensive but their customer service is in the UK on an 0800 number, and no waiting.

A Dongle For When Away In The Van!

Must say that when we tour using our MGF we use the hotels Wi-Fi if we need it and yes we always visit the local tourist offices for ideas - far better than any general guide.

Tom Tom Navigator 6 And Vista

Anybody know how to load maps using Home, Navigator 6 & Vista? I've got the latest version of Home, the original CD but still cant the thing to work. The results vary from hanging completely to loading upto 52% and then hanging. At this rate I might have drunk all the sloe gin by the time I get it working.

A Dongle For When Away In The Van!

What has only be touched lightly on this thread is the use of a dongle abroad , France for instance . What interests me is 1/ if I get a dongle for use in France , is it better to go to a French phone shop and get a dongle for a French network 1a/ how is coverage in France , much the same as for mobiles ? (we will be touring in our sports car , so fixed base ) 2/ UK dongle and use in France 3/ how the download figures translate into actual...

I enquired about this in the Orange shop today and it is only available on 2 of their top Blackberry phone models. I can't have one yet 'cos me contract is too young.

If you set up and use a generic email address - eg hotmail, yahoo, googlemail etc - you don't have to worry about changing ISPs. I have all my email accounts (and I have had a few over the years) forward messages into one yahoo account. It works for me!!

If you've got Internet access from both of them (via a router, either wired or wireless) then they're already connected. All you need to do is share folders on one and then access them on the other. For folder sharing, have a look at the 'sharing and security' (I think it's just 'sharing' on Vista) option when you right-click on any folder in Explorer. To find the other computer, have a ...
