O2 have been very good on the changeover, effortless and it is now much much faster than Eclipse. A bit more expensive but their customer service is in the UK on an 0800 number, and no waiting.

Must say that when we tour using our MGF we use the hotels Wi-Fi if we need it and yes we always visit the local tourist offices for ideas - far better than any general guide.

Anybody know how to load maps using Home, Navigator 6 & Vista? I've got the latest version of Home, the original CD but still cant the thing to work. The results vary from hanging completely to loading upto 52% and then hanging. At this rate I might have drunk all the sloe gin by the time I get it working.

What has only be touched lightly on this thread is the use of a dongle abroad , France for instance . What interests me is 1/ if I get a dongle for use in France , is it better to go to a French phone shop and get a dongle for a French network 1a/ how is coverage in France , much the same as for mobiles ? (we will be touring in our sports car , so fixed base ) 2/ UK dongle and use in France 3/ how the download figures translate into actual...

I enquired about this in the Orange shop today and it is only available on 2 of their top Blackberry phone models. I can't have one yet 'cos me contract is too young.

If you set up and use a generic email address - eg hotmail, yahoo, googlemail etc - you don't have to worry about changing ISPs. I have all my email accounts (and I have had a few over the years) forward messages into one yahoo account. It works for me!!
