I believe Britain had an influence on the mainland when it needed to, The War of the Spanish succession being a prime example.

All maxims are ultimately fallacious Depends on what you're writing. If you're writing dialogue and a character is shouting, it makes perfect sense to use an exclamation mark.

Indeed. It is for example also grammatically correct to use an exclamation mark over a full stop if someone is giving a direct order. It is also quite suiting when someone issue a short exclamation (d'oh) of surprise, disgust or a similar outburst of emotion. Short is a keyword though, as if a sentence gets long enough, it doesn't matter how loud it is shouted; it is no longer an exclamation.

Winged hussars?
Published (2010-01-06 12:45:18)
To my knowledge, these Serbian exiles were actually simply bandits who referred to themselves as 'kusars'!!! They took this word from the Italian corsaro (pirate), which has the same origin as the English word corsair!!! When the Hungarians noticed how effective these Serbian bandits were, they began to use them as well on the field of battle, but changed the k in kusar to an h for some reason!!! The Poles and HRE began to take...

For example two people have a ...

Is anyone else having a huge problem with the Springfield rifle or any rifle with a sniper scope for that matter. I could be aiming right at them and they are standing still and I still miss them! However, I've seen people on the killcam shoot behind me, where I was about 2 seconds ago, and kill me! Anyone else having this? And, Level 30, prestige 0, PSN Ccllnply

I'd think so. I wondered about that myself, but I'd think if you'd grown up in a "non-Anglosphere-influenced" country and took its schooling you'd likely have a different experience. Like asking "Why is everything always about Turkey?"

Have you been watching anime recently? Something like Space Battleship Yamato or something? No seriously... You wanna know if your idea is feasible? Do something simple: go find out the displacement of a ship you want to fly, find out the thrust available to the engines you want to provide the lift power and compute the necessary number of engines required. Then look at the fuel ...
