Jays New Lineup?
Published (2009-12-13 17:18:00)
righty. And maybe its best Brian get a regular run at 1B in Vegas until Ruiz is either found out to be a masher or a flop. If Ruiz is a masher, we trade him at the deadline with other pieces, or deal him in the offseason with other pieces. And if he flops, we put him on the bench for specific game situations and promote Dopirak.

Three Way Deal?

If Rosenthal's "hunch" was correct, it certainly would make some sense. Napoli, Saunders, and Reckling for Lee. Napoli, Reckling, and Taylor/Brown for Halladay. I dunno, I lick at trade proposals.

Keeping Bautista a decent move

"I don't think we're going to make him out to be more than he is - the team's fourth OF who rakes against left handed pitching - has respectable OBP numbers and power and a cannon arm." Well I could think of better ways to 3 millionish dollars than on a fourth outfielder, especially if this is the case... "And if he stinks - big deal - we're not going anywhere next year anyway. " If you...

Jays New Lineup?

I don't think Buck or Chavez are going to be our starting catcher. One will be back up and the other in AAA.

Not going to ague with you on that . Napoli is also going to be d*mn hard to pry away from the angels . I didn,t post that I didn,t like him . Who wouldn,t like him ??? I posted that I like Mathis who MIGHT be available . He hit all thru the minors , I think he,ll hit eventually in the majors , then again he may not and wind up a very good defensive catcher who hits 220

Adrian Gonzalez to Beantown?
Published (2009-12-13 13:49:00)
They already got rid of Lowell in a great move IMO for Max Ramirez. The problem Boston has right now trying to use Veritek. Apparently they had trouble last year getting Ortiz, Tek, V-Mart and Lowell AB's and it caused problems in the room. I think they need to get rid of Tek or make him understand that he's not a starter anymore. Replacing Lowell with A-Gonz and Tek with V-Mart will make them a little younger (which they really...

Closer Question

He was an interesting non-tender but I bet he gets a lot of looks from several teams. Not sure how much I'd be willing to spend on him.

What I see is cannon foader in case AA doesn't get what he is looking for from the trade proposals he has out there. Maybe some AAA fillers in case of injuries so our real prospects develop in AA. I have had time to absorb the Bautista resigning and it makes sense considering the uncertainy in our OF right now.

Adrian Gonzalez to Beantown?

""I think Boston will get Adrian Gonzalez. Getting rid of Lowell to move Youkilis to 3B and acquire Gonzalez. I think it will happen."" After getting their pockets picked by the Yankees last year with Tex I too think they would do what they need to. The Padres new GM was Theo's right hand man so the communication will be easy.

I think he will. remember this wasn't his first choice; his first choice was to be a winner in Toronto, he only began talking about leaving because it was evident the Blue Jays will NEVER compete with the Yankees and Red sox !! I think he will really miss Toronto...too bad we couldn't win for him.

I saw that! What a steal! If we didn't have too many DH options already, I'd have loved for him to come to the Jays for 1-2 years.

While I'm not sure the Angels are super high on Wood, I do think they aren't going to sell him short either. What would it take? Well considering they just got frozen out of Halladay and Lackey, and their rivals in Seattle just added Cliff Lee, I would imagine it would take a solid starter at minimum. Do the Jays have what it takes? Maybe, if they want to give up Ricky Romero but that ...

I think EE fits that bill seeing as he's young and has great numbers going back a year after injury.

Assuming Lind will not DH and Ruiz will start the season on the bench, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a DH bat brought in. Cust, Delgado, Thome have all struck my mind as options.

"The Blue Jays have been more successful in developing hitters in recent years than they have with pitchers, so despite the upside of Jackson and Montero, their focus should be on Phil Hughes. " Disagree with this, and many, many things he said. Also, once again we have some dufus talking like Austin Jackson is a high-upside, impact prospect - false! Just a prospect with an extra high ...

Life is about perspective, we pity those children because from our perspective, children should not be involved in such things. Then again, they can easily look at how screwed up our kids are on this side of the ocean and pity how weak minded, undisciplined or intellectually underutilized kids are here from our over-pampering of them. There is no right or wrong way to raise a kid per se, only...

Overbay to ...... Seattle! Halladay to ...... nobody (yet!) - Guaranteed to see about 1000000 articles on him being traded though. Downs or Frasor to the Angels.

Should be fun to hear all the rumours over the next few days. Unfortunately, I highly doubt the Jays will be moving Halladay in Indy. FWIW I'm hoping for a Hughes/Joba + Montero package.

I stand by that if Aybar is the best player we get in a deal for Halladay, then AA messed up. Aybar is not a game changing type of player and never will be. The Angels don't have the guys capable of making a good deal for Toronto, a third team would need to get involved.

Gotta like the update: Another source says to watch for hard-throwing reliever Jeremy Accardo being involved in these talks, though that is unconfirmed. The source says the Blue Jays might be looking to move Accardo because he could be non-tendered Friday.

I dont know anything on Wade Davis but I've heard he's a stud. I'm also a huge Upton Fan. I think the guy still has alot to show and he's still very young. He would solidify our lead off problems and has shown power.
