Looney Tunes finally back on TV!...
Published (2009-11-29 10:19:00)
Looney Tunes are back on the lineup now so everyone shut up. This past week was the week of Thanksgiving and CN like other channels changed there schedule a bit. No big deal. And it has been announced like it has been said a million times before on ToonZone that CN agreed to run the Looney Tunes through the end of 2009. No word for 2010 airings yet but still enjoy this while it lasts. Im sure by January they will be on Boomerang again anyway.

Alright, before somebody else sayhs it, it's "Shirt Tales". [While not my cup of tea exactly, surprisngly for a more modern show it had animals at odds with an authority a la Yogi and even an odd dream segment about a robot.] It was meant to plug a series of toys popular at the time...Great American character actor and radio voice Herb Vigran, already a twenty or so year staple of HB, and a pre-Bart Simpson Nancy...

As for my original query, heres a 1985 capn crunch commercial featuring the sogmaster. Like i said, it sounds like either peter cullen (one commenter claims it is cullen) or James Avery: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG7sGR9Nltc

Let's not foget Boris Karloff, who sang "You're a Mean One, Mr Grinch" in the How the Grinch Stole Christmas special, and was also Tony the Tiger in Frosted Flakes commercials.
I'm surprised he wasn't first on the list.

It's probably just a simple shuffling of the lineup. They have to
occasionally rotate the schedule from time to time just for the sake of
variety. Networks do this all the time. I don't think there's anything
sinister behind it.

I never watched Plastic Man when it was airing the first time around, or on the CN re-runs, but I have to say I liked this DVD set quite a bit. It does capture the anarchic spirit of the original Jack Cole comics, and even the underrated recent Kyle Baker run of the comics. Admittedly, it recycles sitcom tropes that went out of favor in the 1970's, but, you know, it was the 1970's when it was ...
