Hi blu The security is automatically enabled on the router when installed. The key(code) can be found on a sticker on the bottom/underneath of the router. To set up your printer, you'll need to follow the instructions in the manual.

Hi chris_selby If your line is completely clear of all audible noise when the router is disconnected/switched off, then we would need you to test with another router/modem. If you do not have one, then we can send out a test usb modem to you. Please let me know if you need the test equipment. It would also be worth checking all phone extensions in the house, make sure that they are all filtered, and also disconnect any other equipment when...

Hi McPJ Firstly thanks for the update. But why had this been reported to the BT engineers as a phone fault when all along it has been raised as a broadband fault? (not saying they would have found anything anyway as the weather was typically fine at that time) So as I suspected the caller from Tiscali support (India) was basically talking rubbish about the BT engineers tests. I'm not sure whats going on either, the log on my router shows that the link has gone down a few times since last night, at the moment it has connected at 4992/448, last night I couldn't get the upstream speed greater than 32kbs. Morning speeds at 8:55 http://www.speedtest.net/result/633123597.png BBC iPlayer diagnostic speeds: Download Speed: 6933 kbps Streaming Speed (1): 6341 kbps Streaming Speed (2): 6544 kbps Streaming Speed (3): 6436 kbps Now everything is back to normal. Download speeds are fine and streaming video speed suddenly back in line with download speeds. Now you can see why this looks very much like traffic shaping on video data during peak periods....

I have answered a few things today via the internet and bt. The broadband checker with post code says I can only expect 2mb tops and bt say my line is at the end of a long line so I will never be able to get a better speed than 2mb. However the bt sales lady said I should never expect to be cut off so maybe this is the problem. Today the status bar showed I was getting 1.4 but the internet explorer browser just stopped responding, after 15...

Although my router has connected ata speed of 4352 Kbps download and 32 Kbps upload the speedtest is only giving me a download of speed of 1.11 Mbps and an upload speed of 0.03 Mbps. The ping time has gone up from about 57/58 ms to 273 ms. Heres the link to the speed test result. http://www.speedtest.net/result/632528766.png

If you are experiencing the same problem with the Tiscali supplied router/modem via the backplate with new microfilters, then the next step would be to send out a Tiscali engineer.
