Well color me surprised. I looked for Sat-Sat and I found May 8-15 a 1br lodge, 2br lodge and a studio. The rest of May-nothing. Being a very popular resort, you need to put in a request or book it very early. I booked an August stay last Sept in order to get a cabin. This is going to be tough to get into unless you are very flexible and can book early.

If you're close you also might consider Falls Village. It's supposed to be a nice resort - some people like it better than Big Cedar - and it's much easier to get into.

Charles Well, I have never smelled diddle , so wouldn't know it if I did. Acutally, in 106 exchanges I can't recall that we have ever not gotten the unit exchanged for, when it was for a specific unit. In most of our exchanges, which is to places we are familiar with, the specific unit is important to us . ....

First off thank you guys. I am interested in how the whole year looks. I live 3 and a half hours away and was wondering how much I'll be able to go there. Like I said I joined mainly to go to Big Cedar. For instance, is there anything open in May of 2010? Prefer 2 bedroom. Thanks again, Pete.

Honeymoon in La Cabana, Aruba
Published (2009-11-19 17:27:00)
Last night I booked a one bedroom, poolside view for my eldest stepson for his honeymoon next July 4th. I had a choice of garden view, and pool; did I make the right selection? Should I call Bluegreen (they were closed last night, so I booked the room online) and ask them to make a note that this is a honeymoon stay, and please try to give them a refurbished room? Any thoughts/suggestions about the resort and the island would be greatly...

This leads me back to a question I had in a different thread. How did you make your reservation so that you know exactly what lodge number you are getting. Did you speak to a representative, or did you do the online booking. I am just curious because I like the idea of reserving a particular unit and I dont see how it is possible with the new online booking.

Thank you Hobbitess and wisconsin for your added input. I hadn't really considered how having my points scattered could effect my MF. bocabum is checking to see what options I may have. I'm just wanting to enhance my present package to include more trips with points instead of bonus times. I will have to look at yahoo also. How do I get to that site?

No special assessments that I have heard of, but I did find this notice.
From the Bluegreen owner's update September version:
Bluegreen’s Shore Crest Vacation Villas II will undergo an extensive renovation project starting in October 2009 through May 2010. The mission is to repair and reconstruct the exterior walls of the building and simultaneously upgrade the “curb appeal” of the resort ...

There is not much you can do to get a renovated room. I went ot La Cabana last October and they gave me an old one. The unit was in addition just beside the renovations and they were doing the alleys and galeries during that week. It was really noisy and I didn't want to ear this noise every day of my vacation from 9am to 6pm. I went to the help desk and they gave me a renovated one the day after...

We will also be there the first week of Aug, of course, so will a half million other people. Okay, not that many. The resort is big, has multiple lodges and cabins. We were last there in 2006 and more lodges were being built at that time.
One of the really nice things about the resort is the transportation. Like the Enterprise car commericials, they pick you up. Give them a call and ...

I've moved this to the Bluegreen forums where your questions will receive more attention from other Bluegreen owners and specialists..
I always recommend that individuals new to a timeshare program should contact a third party brokerage when considering a purchase. Boca, the moderator of this particular forum, is absolutely one of the best..... If you would feel more comfortable dealing ...

This question has come up frequently lately. You're faced with two options - rent it out (and at least come up with some of the amount) or take the credit hit... Hope things work out for you and I wish you the best.
Try Craigs List as an option for renting it out... at least it's free.

Bluegreen's website has won many awards. It's very good.
I just spoke to the people in charge of the website at the annual meeting and they are going to do a big update to it this coming year to make it even better.
