It depends upon how you work...1 coat of sealer will make it easier for clean up then seal again afterwards once dry...

Doug - I remember 12 years ago when I started my son with me! He had only been with me a couple of weeks when I bought my first paddle mixer ( it was actually a paint whisk on a stanley drill - but it was electric). Well it mixed the adhesive so creamy and easily that I sacked him!!!!!!!!!! It wasn't as though he made a good cup of tea or anything important. This week he's tiled a 12m Oyster Stone conservatory floor and a 14m...

I cant see how it could achieve a solid bed, when it pulls the tile up from the bed to level it. Good idea in theory but not for me.

why don't you just get a ladder and rake out morter on brick work were the patches of damp corispond outside and re point with morte that has a integral weterproofer in the mix this is cheaper than what you are surgesting

It is'nt all that important, just go with whatever you are comfortable with. Personally i use the flat edge first and then comb through with the serrated edge. I find that this method leaves less droppings when doing walls.

hi and yes you could go with chipboard but as you have already seen it not the best once wet its stuffed best to replace with ply and then cement sheet have you sorted the leakes first it might be worth your while to waterproof floor and be done with it hope this helps

Use them as spacers....... very handy on tiles that are of slight size variation. Use normal spacers but now and again you may need to use one of the wedges just to get things back in order!
