Ive been tiling for 3 years since i started working,,,
I learnt the trade from experianced tilers of which are very impressed with what im capable of doing hence me now being
Self Employed.
However is it worth me getting an NVQ?
I didnt realise you could get one for tiling?
Cheers Luke

Hi Bushwacker,
Welcome to the forums. Firstly I would avoid the company based in Hainault, the reason being that I have heard through the grapevine that the company is on rocky ground and has been for some time. They have also recently decided to put together a DVD claiming to contain 8 weeks of tuition that you can practice
at home with in your garage which is just outrageous and no training ...

Hi,
I went on it about 6 weeks ago. Never laid a tile in my
life before I went, and was well pleased with what I achieved in the space of 4 days, as well as the theoretical knowledge passed on. I would heartily recommend giving them a try

Good points
1. No boss, otherthan the wife.
2. Work how you want to work and when.
3. Satisfaction looking at a completed job knowing you did it. Bad points
1. No
paid holidays.
2. Having to drum up your own work and not having the guarantee of a weekly wage.
3. Having to often deal with really odd people.
