hi dion it sounds to me like ,you need to paper face your work from the seen side with brown paper coat this with gum arabic or giorgum wallpaper on to your work ,let it dri out for a couple of days carfully turn over and IMO scratch off the PVA thus keeping your work dri ,beacause the gum you will use is also water soluable& if you flood it,it we breakdown!!! soz about the spelling im dislecsick

You got it in one... ..make sure you seal any joints to tray and walls with silicone to prevent water getting in..that should last till you do the re-vamp..

hello all ive got a question i hope you can help me with i paid someone to lay tiles around my bath and did not like what he done so i ripped them down and am attempting to lay them myself this is the first time ive done any tiling and im pleased with my results but have come across somthing im not sure about i have boxed in the pipes at the end of the bath and have started to tile the boxing where the 2 sides meet "ie" the...

Use a trim everytime mate,unless they're travertine.

as above tile trim leaves a neat finish unless they are natural stone!

Both ways are good and it depends on your own preference..if you're not good at cutting angles and are working to a budget, don't use trim and just lay the top horizontal tile over the vertical tile..if the tile has a glazed edge, make sure that is showing..

Never heard of 'tile tape' but I suppose you could carry out the same procedure with any sticky back sheeting which would give you something comparable to paper faced mosaic as opposed to mesh backed. You cold try the sticky backed plastic used to protect carpets - Wickes do one 500mm wide but that cold be a bit TOO sticky. Try a stationers for just run of the mill 'Blue Peter' type sticky back ...

what was it like before you ripped it out? the setting out of the tiles, ie if tiler has worked out from ext corner with a full tile on each side, you'll be limited to what you can do. Can you post some photies?

Hi unregistered, That's a bit of a pickle.. Tubbed adhesives don't tend to dry particularly quickly, so you might be able to get all the tiles up, wash them off and start again with a cement based powdered adhesive.
