I think that's meant to indicate that the stock S2 DT Tivo only has a bracket included that can accommodate a single drive. Other Tivos originally came with brackets for two drives. This includes the original S1 SA Tivos (it had the space but the actual bracket was an optional accessory) and the S1 DTivos. The first S2 SA models had a similar, if not exactly the same, bracket as the S1 DTivos which could hold two drives. The later S2...

This is where I got the info: http://www.newreleasesvideo.com/hins...to/index9.html Quote: TiVo 80hr TCD649080 Standalone Single 80GB A drive (dual tuner model - only accommodates a single drive) But since Weeknees has a bracket I guess I'll order one and see how it goes.

Guess this section of the forum doesn't see much action haha thanks for your response, I'll probably go with Seagate and put the order in tomorrow. How long does it usually take to process and ship?

Was the backup image from the same box (i.e., from the original drive)? Otherwise you may need to run a Clear & Delete Everything. Can you post a screenshot of the error? I've never heard of this one ...

Thanks. Mine self-reboots, but can't get beyond the (green) GSOD. Seems to be a different problem, most likely the HDD.

Adding Original Tivo Drive As Second Drive
Ok, I have a Series2 DT and I've just upgraded to a new larger drive. As anyone knows, adding a second drive isn't supposed to be an option in an S2 DT because there's not enough room. However, I'd like to try and add the original drive as a second drive even if I have to use the double-sided tape ...

It could be the sata/ide adapter that is the problem. Does the adapter work in other applications?

Hash?
The instructions for my Turbonet card say:
"go into the tivo phone menu and set the dialing prefix to <comma><hash><4><0><1>"
What is a hash, and how do I make one with my TIVO remote?

You need the -r4 option in mfsrestore for the larger partitions.

OK, I put the TiVo S2 40GB drive into the HUMAX T800. It doesn't go past the powering up screen. Now what? Do I have to reformat the drive for the HUMAX? What do I use for the reformat?
Do I hook up the HUMAX T800 drive to my laptop and try to make a backup copy with WinMFS? How do I get that image onto the already formatted Tivo S2 drive?
What if the HUMAX T800 drive is dead? Am I SOL?...
