clutch pushrod question
Published (2009-11-28 22:01:00)
Is it possible to have a faulty push rod in which the symptom is a grabby clutch? As in you pop it in first hold in the clutch all the way (clutch cable is adjusted so that you get the most pull) and the clutch is grabbing, causing you to keep the rpm's high so it will not stall?

Wow someones grumpy, considering Harrperf builds bikes i consider him quite knowledgeable, you're asking for advice then calling people names for for giving advice. The v-farce did not do a damn thing to my bike back to back against the stocker so the stocker is back in mine, every debate i have seen about the boyesen is you end up going leaner across the board because of the improved intake trac. that jetting seems way rich, like...

The thought had not crossed my mind that the ti subframe went on a former steel subframed bike!!! So yes...better than steel. But aluminum for reasons stated seems to just edge out the ti on the scale (though if the ti were designed in house at yamaha they would basically come to same weight) EDIT:A neat "fact" of life/basic guideline that often amazes me. Shy of special composites and "really" high tech...

new yz125
Published (2009-11-26 06:43:00)
I had the option of a brand new 09 or brand new 08 leftover for around 800$ less than the 09. I went with the 08. The only difference is the seatcover , gold chain and some random aluminium piece. That equates to a really expensive seatcover in my book. 2010 is the same as the 09.

i dont think the bottom end is big enought to fit 6 gears in there. i mean what you could do is take a complete WR tranny and see if it will fit. i had a 98 cr125(i know not YZ) but i took a 96 cr125 bottom end(6 gears) and put it in my 98. so i had a 98 CR125 aluminum frame with a 6 speed tranny. bolted right up. anything is possible if you have time and know how.

sounds like it would be a top end problem but your signs sound like a jetting issue? specifically your pilot jet! 50:1 (not knocking it) is too lean for my taste so i cant give you any suggestions on jet sizes but you said it ran fine the day before so id start by making sure the bike is getting fuel! check your boot to make sure its seated correctly and your air filter is clean! the ...

I have had work done by both. RB does fine quality work at decent prices with quick turnaround times and good customer service. Very good attention to detail. I would not hesitate to send work to Ron.
Eric's prices are generally good, too.

If this is one of the first times riding. I would suggest getting a 125 2t or 250 4t or even something smaller depending on ur size. Unless u are just uses or buying ur friend's, it will be a waste of money and extra power.

uho, how important is that ring end gap thing? I missed that when reassembling this latest top end?
Haven't completed reassembly either because I'm waiting on my head coming back from RB Designs.
Do I need to check this?

I think this may be the right place for this question? Anyway what I've been thinking about for my winter project: I have a KTM 200 exc frame with a title that could be plated. The wife has a blaster, and when I ride it, it feels that the power delivery would be great for woods riding if it were in a bike? You get the idea by ...

Classic detonation! That bike is now going to need head and cylinger work.... I have an 06 and yesterday I rode with the stock jetting (although I use the N3EW needle) and it was still a bit rich. It was 50 degrees.
Your detonation issues may be related to the timing being off and thats the first thing I would check. The 178 main should be fine (make sure the needle is in the...
