Hello, I've spent the last hour reading and searching the forum about normal and abnormal engine sounds as well as valve clearance checking for my '99 WR400 (which I've owned for a month now). Two weeks ago I noticed occasionally at 5,000 RPM (I have a Trail Tech tach..) there would be a relatively high pitched clicking that would sound randomly. (for those without a tach: around 40 mph ...

hey guys new to the wr scene and loving it! only picked my bike up last week and have done 150 miles already. problem only started after i refueled the bike two nights ago. the bike has started to cutout in top gear , seems very strange as i can pull from low down in fourth all the way to limiter no probs but as soon as i change in to top it starts hesitating and pulsing no matter what ...

Hi I am hoping for a bit of help! I bought a pair of Hotcams for my 2004 WR450 (4023-1IN + 4044-1E) and installed them this evening. Unfortunately I couldn't get the bike to start, There seems to be too much compression, the electric start would only crank it over for a split second then die and the kick start is*stiffer than normal*and the bike 'kicked back' and backfired twice. Here's what I am looking at for my 08 WR450F. Factory Effex Evo 4 Shroud / Airbox Graphics Factory Effex Trim Kit Factory Effex Fork Guards I am not sure if the above will fit my bike though as most sites only list options for the YZ. Can someone confirm that the front and rear fender are the same shape on the WR / YZ? If not what other options are there for trim kits?...

Anyone tried this FMF Q4 mufflers before? Wanna use it on my 2000 WR400F! How is the power performance using Q4? Is it really quite? Is the spark arrestor removable? Loud pipes on the road gonna get me pulled over. So once I reached the woods/trail, will remove the spark arrestor and have fun ride blasting feel the power!

I'm looking for some kind of protection for the bottom of the fork tubes? I've seen plastic and carbon fiber caps in pictures but after lots of searching I can't find anyone that sells anything like that. I ride alot of singletrack with tons of rocks so I already have some knicks on the bottom of the forks. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Sorry I ride a 07 WR450!

I just picked up an 07 WR450 for $3900 It's totally stock and like new. I've been reading and searching the archives. TT rocks Anyway, here are my notes so far. Buddy just bought a 02 wr426, after a 2 hour ride the other night bike started backfiring no idle ..... Changed the spark plug and gapped. Checked cap vent-good Read maybe carb dirty tps cdi????? Flywheel key sheared?? Any suggestions? Tks

Ok I have my flame suit on but here I go. JD needles are waste for the recreational weekend warrior rider. I bought some here on TT two years ago. I fought with these things the whole time. I read williams posts and have switched every jet and used both needles. I talked to my local mechanic friend multiple times and all the fussing I could never get it to run great. terrible surge, runs to rich...

I am wanting to get more power out of my 03 WR450 street tard. Is it better to go with the YZ exhaust cam or get Hot cams intake and exhaust. Does the YZ exhaust cam make a good difference in power? and what about the Hot cams? I have the grey wire mod, throttle stop, air box snorkle and stock muffler mods done.

i just removed my ais off my 08 wr450 and the bike runs great just riding around the block once.i just put a pro billet insert into stock muffler also.do i need to re jet or just leave it alone.the reason i'm asking is because on a similar thread someone said." you'll want to re jet trust me." i don't want to miss out on a little extra power but i don't want either.

I just monted my 480 big bore on my 03 wr 450. Problem is that it wont start. When I try to start it on gear It tries to start, but it is a lot of knocking in something in the engine. I saw there was 3 marks on the flywheel for the camshafts. I have the hotcams both on intake and exhast. I used the 3rd timing mark. Is that wrong. In the book it says only one mark, But I have 3of them ...

OK, This is the 2nd time this has happen to me. Apparently what is happening is that the six bolts that hold the starter clutch to the back of the rotor somehow shear off (all 6) and the allen bolt heads then chew up the stator and the rotor and pretty much kills everything in the process. I have already done the '04 starter mod when I fixed this mess the last time. The bolts were all ...
