I don't think the overbore would make much of a difference. You'll have to look at your manual and see how to set the powervalve tension. I actually have to put a small wrench on mine to move it.

Today, I rode all day all day at 4,000ft. The bike will haul ass at higher RPM in 3rd thru 5th. It just flies down dirt roads. But if you go to higher RPM is 1st or 2nd on technical terain it stutters. Not really what I would call bogging, just not smooth at high RMP in low gears. I lugged it under muddy conditions in first and it never fouled the plug. Good fun !

My 04 will not maintain any great top speed for any distance at all and I dont expect it to. No matter what you do to these bikes its still not going to change the fact that the trans ratio is super close & steep and they're not meant to be a wide open desert or gravel road bike. Your friends may laugh at you while riding on open trails/roads on their 4bangers but once you get into tight/technical single track they will stop...

Woot My bike just needs new floats in the carb. No air leak, just green gas that was of a too high viscosity to flow through jets in a carbatator. Here is my baby, I washed it but it turned into an icicle.

Depends on your riding but i would imagine you would be disappointed with an RM125 after being used to a 250. They re not slow by any means but it takes a lot more work to ride them fast. Great fun on the track. There is of course a noticeable difference in power, the 250 has twice the cubes!!!!!!! If you do any woods/trail riding i wouldnt think it to be a good swap at all.

Because of the wide ratio transmission in the RMX and it's 3 gallon tank, the RMX would make for a better bike if you tend to go on longer rides (50 to 60 miles ~ maybe more). An RM would be better if your rides are shorter than 45 miles and are less technical, as less technical trails tend to favor MX bikes. It's hard for me to say if $1,000 is a decent price for a '95 RMX in your area. In ...

The last three RM250's that I've owned, a '90, '02 and now a '08, were all great bikes in my opinion. I did manage to blow up the '02 but that was because I believed the previous owner when he said that it had a new top end... A month later the piston shattered. After I fixed it, it ran great for another 5 years. Normally I install a new piston every year, that one time I didn't and it cost ...

The threads broke off? You mean they were stripped out or the bolt broke? If they stripped out you might be able to retap the case or use a self cutting bolt to replace it. They are available at any autoparts store. if the bolt broke in the case then you can use an easy out to remove it.

You are way lean on that puppy for this time of year. Unless you are about 4500 ft ASL. Probably a 172 main and a 50 pilot will give you something to talk about. Also set the powervalve according to the book specs. Its non adjustable.

It's not terribly common, but does happen on occasion. You need to remove it and see how much damage has been done. If it broke and dropped into the cylinder you need to remove/inspect the cylinder, too.

I'm betting that you did not set the power valve spring tension correctly. If it's flat up top, then you most likely have too much tension on it. Find a manual or talk to your local mechanic, this should be an eay fix. Report back after you verify that its set correctly.

I'm no expert, but my manual shows the spring facing the outside. There is a picture in the manual that clearly shows the open side of the seal facing outward on the right hand side. Both crank seals face the same direction. On the magneto side the hard side faces outward. Hope this helps, but like I said I'm no expert.

if you are very concerned about it sucking in trans oil then put in a precise amout in the bike, ride it around then drain and check if their is any missing. BUt i would probably say your jetting is off, running rich. buy a 1size smaller pilot and the next 2-3sizes smaller main jets. you will also need to adjust your needle clip position too. when in doubt look up jetting FAQ on this site. good ...

The spring will usually extend the shock if everything is working correctly. I've heard of cases where the rebound valve is fouled, causing the shock to hang on extension. It sounds like time to get the shock serviced.

I'm susprised the rear brake is given you problems. Is it just not good from the start of the moto? Sounds like you have nothing to do but replace the rotor or the entire braking unit.
