Remove all Advertisements the 2006 has the riveted shroud plastic, did they make it a 1 piece design with no rivets in following years?

The Rekluse also adds some flywheel weight, so you won't need that either. Unless you like a real heavy flywheel.

I dont know that I ever idle for 5 minutes. I might of. I would generally consider 5 minutes the longest i would wait.. and thats only on a cold start, not a hot engine, mid ride.

You can't. It is open cell foam. Imagine taking an ordinary sponge and spraying it with water repellant. It will be less effective but still very effective at soaking up water. You need a water proof cover. But then if water does get under the cover, the foam will never dry out.

So its softer than the stock setup right? My tailbone has been getting really sore lately. So much so that it hurts to move after I ride. Probably cause I'm out of shape and stand up less. Can I just order the foam without install?

Which two valves are bent, and which side of the piston skirt is broken? Were your cams still in time when you disassembled it? I'm wondering if the chain skipped and caused all this.

Are you using your hot start? Are you sure that you have not set the carb too rich? How much did you have to adjust your valves? If more than a shim size or 2 then they are shot.

You can have it remapped to the hard track mode, this tames it down and smooths out the power delivery.

Remove all Advertisements I picked this bike up at a local pawn shop. Apparently it was Isaiah Johnson's Supercross practice bike. It's an 07' KX450F, and it's fully decked out with Pro Circuit goodies. Not sure if the motor has had any work by PC, but I'm planning on checking valve clearances, so I may find some other good stuff when I crack it ...

Remove all Advertisements I just got a 2006 KXF450 and have a few questions. Generally speaking, how far can you go on a full tank of gas? Lets say trail riding. And if I was going to store it in a mini barn for the winter, what storing procedures should I do to the bike?
