If the CDI is stock,,, it's likely fine,, Seen exactly ONE here since 2003 that was actually known to be bad. The aftermarket ones are very iffy. Has this bike run for you? Is this a new problem? Did it die while running? or just not start the next time you tried? Was it sitting or in storage? if so how long? Do you have spark? Is fuel getting to the carb? What is the battery voltage, key on? Alrighty I read through all 20 pages of the MRD/SSW post and from looking at the graphs on the dyno, unless I'm blind, the MRD graph is higher down low, better transitions and just about the same up high. Peak HP is less than .55 lower and peak Torque is .08 lower. I would say that "FLows Better" esp for the price. Maybe its just me but I want my power and Torque down low on the street. I dont spend too much time WOT...
