My cam gear looks the same every time I mess with it. Its a little off the mark, but fortunately mine cranks right up. Awesome writeup, I'm probably about to go do a complete rebuild myself. I'll be looking back at this when I do.

Remove all Advertisements It's a spark plug wrench/socket. Your dealer has the oem , or an auto parts store has a deep socket that will also work. Search this forum to find out what size u need.

45 seconds of no oil may not be the culprit. Roller bearings can take alot more abuse than babit bearings. But that's not an issue now. If the crank is seized, then you'll have to pull the head and cylinder anyway, so might as well pull it on the bike. If you find it is the lower end, then the motor will be easier to remove with the head and cylinder off anyway.

Believe it or not most people have the idle set way too low then they complain it stalls. I have an 03 crf450 also and have it set to idle at a steady speed.

Drop in a 45 pilot and see if it helps.
Finally put one in my bike late this year ... not only helps with cold starts, but pulls much better off the bottom now (given aftermarket exhaust allows slightly better air flow)
Only costs a few bucks and will take you 10 minutes max to install.
Worth a look.

Try getting a swingarm buddy. You drill out what's left and put the swingarm buddy in it's place. I had to put one on my01 cr250 and it worked for me!

I've heard that Enzo has the 09-10 450 balancing down. I was thinking about an 09 and I would definitely go with Enzo.

VP Red is really good in a stock 450. 4.2 is great, but you should check jetting as it tends to run lean.

bogging on deceleration is a lean problem, go down a size in your pilot jet to help this. bog on accel is hard to tell without riding it. check your plug and see if it looks like its been running rich, may need to go down a size in your main jet. make sure the air filter is clean. Also would be good to check your valve spacing just to be sure.
bogging is usually a carb problem or maybe a valve...

Yeahhhh okay sooo let me try this....
*If you have a rekluse you can fire it up in first gear and sit there and idle.
*When you turn the throttle the clutch will engage and you will drive off.
*When you slow down the clutch will disengage.
*You still need to use the clutch to shift gears up
*You still need the clutch to shift up
*You still need the clutch to shift down
*You...

Ti bolts, axle, and swingarm pivot, Excel A60 rims laced to stock hubs, and a monocoque carbon fiber air box/subframe (you did say money wasn't an issue). That's about it for lightening it up, any thing else you replace with billet usually weighs more than the cast aluminum part you are replacing. Maybe ti foot pegs, but since they will be wider than stock I don't know if you will save weight ...

Whatever you like. The point of customizing ANYTHING is building what you want, not what other people might think is cool.

At your weight, shortening the shock and putting a link on it was a waste of money. It may even be aggravating the front end problems. The "stinkbug" problem usually only happens for lighter guys.
Pro Action revalved mine and put .48 springs in the forks, and my suspension is excellent. (205lbs).
