I test rode both and while the 530 pulled stronger, I felt that the 450 was noticeably more nimble. I went with the 450 and am VERY happy with it.
There are a number of threads here with tons of posts on this that may be helpful to you.

Over heating. Jetting is the first thing to get right. Contact
JD Jetting and get their suggestions.
OEM fan can and will kill the battery because you have not corrected the real problem. There are things you can do to help but you need to get the bike so it will only over heat in extreme conditions. Anyway. The stock stator does not have enough output to keep up with the OEM fan. You...

Has it been totally de-smogged?
Where does the tank vent go? To catch can or frame?
Make sure there is no
check valve on tank vent hose and remove the check ball from the gas cap. Tank must vent freely in both directions.
Make sure carb. vents are clear.

chain tensioner back and strip the teeth. cam gets loose then doubles over the sprocket and blow up engine. replace the timing chain and tensioner and retime the cam. fix is to make the tensioner mechanical with a bolt replacing the pawl and extending...
