I was taking Doxy when I was in Nepal/India. I found that it made me a feel a bit sick so I stopped...I had a few conversations with other travellers and what I heard was that Doxy doesnt prevent Malaria but is actually only half of the cure...
If you take Doxy regularly and get Malaria you wont experience the full effects of the symptoms, you will most likely feel a bit "fluey" and what ...

You just ask them before taking a photograph, so people will not object.
Shalwar Kameez will get a blend with the locals and they are more happy to see you like them.
Gilgit Balistan is minuses during night at places and it will be +10-15 during day time. Till thses dates there is no snow to down the valleys of Khapulo, Skardu, Shigar and Hunza Passu but if weather get bad there will be a snow....

Cut out the pages, says I. You bought the book so that it'd be of some use, didn't you? It makes little sense to leave it in a pristine condition when you could very well take the few 100 pages you need. If anything, the eventual well-thumbed avtaar of the guide might make for interesting memories!

one of the highlights of a trip to india is a visit to a local tailor who will measure you up and make some clothes that will fit you in the material of your choice and the style of your choice! and for a very reasonable sum too (do some haggling...!).
