From the caringbridge journal Wednesday: Ashlyn has had another good day of physical therapy with her therapy dog Baker. They removed casts from her left leg and right arm to extract the stitches. After removing the stitches, another cast had to be placed on the arm and leg. The medical staff will take X-rays of Ashlyn tomorrow to see how the healing process is progressing. The Pope family would like to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving....

Then there are the financial aid people you talk to at the schools. They can not stand the word NEGOTIATE but they will do it. What will it take to get your DD in our school. Coaches talking to their AD. Parent talking to the FINI people. Coming up with a package that ALL are happy with and what parents can afford to pay. Buy our car sales pitch. If the FULL RIDE is not there.

it's MONKEY NUMBER's!! Ha! Ha! aren't those the same numbers they use in Washington? It's ALWAYS about the money... so right! Makes one wonder how some schools have so many OSS non revenue sport athletes Wingate University President, Dr McGee, is a huge sports supporter- Whew! Braves, if you had called him a huge athletic supporter, you may have lost your box seats at the baseball games!

It would be nice to know when these compression testers will be affordable for use at most tournaments. The last list I saw NC purchased 1 GA purchased 2 and SC none. This is hardly enough to make someone think they will get caught. I cant imagine them using testers at a fastpitch event when there is adult events going on where this is a widespread problem. My bat experience comes from Mens Major level playing on bat sponsored teams and now...

As hard as your girls hit it you better hide your bats!! Just joking...I wish they would come up with a standard that could be tested before it leaves the manufacturer and the bat would not get any hotter with use...only cooler. This way they would only have to spot check for doctored bats during a game or season.

Education is more important than softball. If that is her number one school because of education, don't take the school off her short list until she is sure that there is another school that she would like to attend. She may have to give up playing softball to get the education she wants. Did she check to see if the coach will accept walk ons during a tryout period?
