That is just one of the reasons that the Great Ron Polk and other legendary college coaches has been trying to get baseball to break away from the NCAA. Baseball has always been the whipping post in college athletics. Football has over 85 full scholarships each year where maybe 50 players actually touch the field and baseball has 11 scholarships to divide out among 35 players each year. Unfortunately money and the need to win now is what is...

We wanted to let everyone know that the correct registration form for our upcoming tryouts can now be found at our website. We had incorrectly listed the price on the form, and it has since been corrected. Once again our website is www.midatlanticmustangs.com and you can find info about our program, as well as the tryouts there.

It has become a business. It is as if the student is an employee. They lay him off if they don't need him. He can get another job sometimes, but there are usually some set backs. It isn't fair, but it is life. Players ability to perform can either provide the coach with job security or cost him his job.

The advent of the early commit over recent years has changed the landscape significantly. Schools that used to wait until after a prospect could make an official visit are now pushing up the process and entering into non-binding "commits" as a means to compete with other aggressive schools and to stay in the game. There was a huge article on the front page of the Charlotte Observer on Sunday...

SMC does have a great program. Everyone has their own opinion on the "best" but it has to be in everyone's conversation atleast. SMC, Louisburg, Pitt, and Lenoir (DII) are traditionally very tough JUCO programs in the Carolina's. Wilkes and Southeastern are building strong programs as well. I'm sure I am forgetting a few. Who has SMC landed out of the 2010 class from NC? Or did ...

Two very exciting guys to watch play. Obviously, I'm partial to the Gamecocks and look forward to watching Desean succeed at the next level. But I must admit that Wossa may have attempted to go to school at USC---" He digned at USC"---I'm sure you meant he dined at USC. Congrats to Ben as well. ECU keeps filling their cupboards with talented young men.

for players looking to find a home at the next level. This is not a money maker event. If you are a 10 or 11 and you want an opportunity then spend the 50 bucks and get down there.
