No.
God has no need to hide things in his Word. Why? Because hidden codes favour the intellectual; God's Word is written to be accessible and easy to understand for everyone, not just for those who have

It's not a copout. They weren't given to me. Nobody has shown me a verse which says otherwise.
Having said that, I keep most of them because they are
analagous to other commandments which were given to me, about adultery and murder and whatnot.
I don't refrain from working on Saturday, though.

the Trinity. I am a
Trinitarian myself, but don't share the view of some
that one must have that part of doctrine correct in order to be saved.

The idea that the Son and Father are one does not mean there isn't a distinction between them. Several other verses do draw a distinction, the most important one being when Jesus is praying in the
Garden of Gethsemane, and asks the Father if this cup (the job of going to the Cross) can be taken away. Then Jesus says "Not My will, but Yours, be done" (my paraphrase).

Actually, I don't tie it to the Old Testament like so many people do. There were more years in the Old Testament, starting with Eden, that were pre-Moses, than there were after God used Moses to give the Law...
