A rare movie night at the theater. The Blind Side was good. Even rarer is that me and my wife both liked it.

The Christmas classics... Home Alone 1 & 2 , and A Christmas Story . Picked up Journey to the Center of the Earth on Blu-ray for hubby for Christmas. I did miss the 3D effects - I think it's the BEST 3D movie OF ALL TIME, but it's still a GREAT movie even without it!

It was preachy, but it was a good sermon so I didn't mind. It was actually really good. I enjoyed the story and the special fx and the characters. It was very good. The only thing I thought was a bit over the top was that general. He was a little out there. But other than that, I had no issues.

Leeland anyone?
Published (2009-12-22 00:00:00)
I first heard Leeland when they toured with Third Day. The song you mention is from Sound of Melodies which I purchased shortly after the concert. They have released 2 more CDs, Opposite Way & Love Is On The Move . I think they will be around for a long time to come. CCM magazine named their latest CD as one of the top 10 albums of 2009. http://www.ccmmagazine.com/news/stories/11623645/

Another of our backlog of VHS tapes that we've recorded and never sat down to watch. This time it was a four hour movie called Final Approach , with Dean Cain, when it was on the ION Network last year. (We figured out that it was from last year, when a stop smoking commercial came on and said to "next year, take control of your life, stop smoking in 2009" or something like that. ) In any case, the thing wasn't as...

My thoughts on Avatar: It was one of the most visually impressive movies I've seen: the 3D effects were a true spectacle. The plot was unoriginal and weak. The social commentary (white man and technology bad; tribal pagan good) was so over-the-top and heavy-handed that it distracted from the movie. The aforementioned visual effects were so impressive that the movie was entertaining and enjoyable despite its major flaws. There aren't...

The latter one wasn't actually a CD. It's six live recordings that are only offered as a digital download.
Aside from that, I haven't bought any music in a really long time. I rely on free stuff. Legal free stuff,...
