Medicare IS govt run health care... Shall we have that repealed? I do not support a public option...but would like to see medicare extended to 55 and older...and babies to 18 yr olds....BOTH working in conjunction with each state. ..and reform and tighter regulation. Everyone wants regs for the banks..but not....health care..

So the problem with Government run Heath Care is that it sets the market... For Example, lets just say a Heart Transplant. Medicare says the most it is going to pay for a Heart Transplant is $100,000.00. Medicare has already engaged in price fixing. Rather than letting the market control the price, the Government sets a false threshhold to what Dr's Can charge for a Heart Transplant. It is for reasons like this, you can get just as good...
