that's not only what others say, but i have said it to myself "just eat like you already have had the surgery". If only it were that easy -- then we'd all do it. Sometimes you need additional "tools" to help. It was a good decision for me, no, it was the best decision for me.

This can be a very anxious time for sure. But I went into the whole programme being mindful that by not addressing my 50+ years of morbid obesity, the risks of doing nothing far outweighed the slight risk that something could happen during WLS surgery. I'll be holding you in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow. hugs.

Hi Chris. Grats on starting your new life. I had mine on 12/21 and am just learning about this side of things myself. I can tell you this is a good place to be. The support is wonderful and you'll definitely get lots to think about. I think I would tell you that don't expect anything. Everyone is different and just about anything can happen or won't. Most of all - prepare to be tired and don't overdue it. I know this from...

I was so excited to read a story from another person from the Boston area. I couldn't believe the coincidence of having a doctor from the same practice. And then, I realized it was my very own sister. I think I need more sleep. Anyway, welcome!!! Love you

Hi Angel. I am scheduled for February 8th. I have done so much research that now I think I have had too much time to think about it. I am both anxious and excited. As it gets closer I will likely start stressing about everything. I know it is the right decision but I can't help worrying. Hopefully we will both sail through and be on our way to a new life in two months. I am having a hard time...

You are young, so don't worry too much about it. This was my attitude: "I'm relatively young, have no major health issues (other than sleep apnea), and I know my body is strong and resilient. Therefore I have no reason to be afraid."

Laura, the good news is, the more fluids you get in, the less your nausea is likely to be , and it gets better from there. Really work at getting your H2O in, dear. It will make life much more pleasant. You may be dehydrated already and that can have serious consequences.

Welcome, Michelle. Glad to have you here. There is a lot of good information here-keep up the researching you have been doing. You may turn out to be borderline from your insurance companies perspective. The typical requirement is 5 years at above 35, usually 40 bmi, with co-morbidities and proof you have tried other weight loss methods. That is typical but every policy is different so find out ...
