Hide network sharepoint

Thank you for your answer, but my problem is not the shortcut in the sidebar. In the Finder when you type cmd+K and connect to a server you see all the sharepoint of the server those you don't have access. I would like hide sharpoint in which I haven't acces.

leopard server as a pdc

I want authentication and home directories to be served by the leo server. The leo server happens to also be running: AFP DNS iCal NFS Open Directory Print SMB Software Update Web Nothing is too critical, as it is for my home. I am trying to be cheap and use what I have, rather than buy something new. The only thing that I really want to do, is allow the children to watch Netfix on Demand, which they cannot do on the Pro Mac, as it is a G4. I...

Hi, I have a network that runs on Active Directory, and a room full of PowerMacs that are connected to the AD. I also have an XServe that has 2TB of storage specifically for this room (a media room). What I want to do is have the macs authenticate users against active directory, but not use the normal home drive/profile specified in AD, instead using a home directory hosted on the XServe. Do many people do this, have separate home directories...

mac mini server as workstation
Published (2009-12-16 08:11:00)
Well, I bought it and now I am trying to set it up. For me it is the first time I am on mac server (or any other) so it is quite difficult. Beside having the standard problems like AddressBookServer and iCalServer I ran into a problem caused by having a normal user on the system: I set up all network users without any problem. I installed the user of server in the local node. I did not succeed in mixing local and network accounts in one...

There is no requirement that a network user be somewhere else - if you need to share groups, log into the server as a network user.

I'm not sure what you are aiming for, but it seems like you are on some other Mac (call it Mac A) and you want to login to some other Mac (Mac B) using 'ssh' and then run apps on Mac B but have the graphics of those apps show up on Mac A. That is not possible - unlike X11, the graphical system of OS X does not transport over the network (GUI apps always show up on the Mac where they are ...

Sure, no real difference between server and client as far as the desktop is concerned. However, the user needs to understand that it is the office server. Usually works best if the local network admin is the one using it.
