Problem playing .avi file

It sounds like a corrupted avi file. Find another source for the file or check the file to ensure it is valid.

Simple. This isn't about patents, this is about code licensing. It was announced and is in the Changelog.

Thanks LinHan for the reply. Yet, this problem is recurrent and happens with many different .avi files. Don't you think that it could be a problemn linked to new codecs not yet available within VLC??

I use Mac OS X 10.5.8 on a PowerMac G4 (dual 1.25) with Safari 4.0.4, QuickTime 7.6.4 and VLC Plug-In 1.0.3. When visiting http://www.animalhead.com/coyote.html with Safari, if I have the "VLC Plugin.plugin" file in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins, the "autoplay" file on the page is not heard, and no sound player bars are visible for the three sound files available on the page. If I move "VLC...

I guess it's a long shot for most of you, but.. If your source material is multichannel, and you're using a stereo speaker setup, make sure you have VLC set to output in stereo (Audio -> Audio device -> Stereo). I've seen users who have this set to 5.1 on a stereo setup, which means they're losing all the information in the rear and center (voice) channels.

VLC audio over AirTunes

I've had some success with the following VLC Preferences All Stream Output Default Stream Output Chain #duplicate{dst="transcode {acodec = alac channels = 2, samplerate = 44100}: raop{host=10.0.1.3,volume=255}:display",dst=display} The streamed audio is out of sync (~1 sec) with the local video, but the local audio is in sync.

I have the same issue. I have been experimenting with the Volume/Audio Normalization in VLC 0.9.9 and it seems it does work but not completely the way i want. There is a delay of the 'normalize' of loud volume. I went to the advanced options into audio filters and turned on Normalization, then went to the Normalization tab and set the audio buffers to 50 and the filter amount to 1.60 after ...
