Import of files in the library

Well, I can select "import a file" or "import a title" in the library. As soon as the file name or the title name has an accent (éèà), the file/title is not imported Is it some more clear ? Sorry for my poor English. I closed the application and ran it again and everything has been correctly loaded. Case is closed Thanks

problem with compiling for arm...
Published (2009-11-25 17:37:00)
Okay, I guess I solved this one. The build order is not a problem. It's the library paths. Basically, configure and/or make partly ignore the paths that I provide for libraries such as libiconv. It doesn't even search it's own ./src/.libs directory. That's why it can't find the library. The solution is to copy all relevant libraries to the "--prefix"/lib folder (including the build's own...

Does anyone know how i can fix this issue? Worst case I can tell it to run "vlc --reset-config" on startup, but that doesn't really fix the issue, it just patches over it

[ask] set 8 bit color depth
Published (2009-11-24 17:44:00)
Rémi Denis-Courmont wrote: You cannot stream with a defined depth. Most video codecs use YUV color space, typically I4:2:0 , by design. Hence there is no notion of RGB pixel bits depth here. it's ok , what is default color space ( YUV2,YV12,RGB,or RAW ) that is used by VLC when receive live streaming from TV tuner ? thanks

Indeed your system tries to install vlc.i686 0:1.0.3-1.fc12 which is the vlc package/version for fedora 12. That happens because the rawhide repositories are enabled in your system, since you are using fedora 11 and not 12. Specifically, the repositories are the databases which contain the packages (.rpm files) that users download and install in their systems using yum, rpm etc. You can ...

I've digged the VLC code a little bit. It seems that it is it's internal limitation (however, it is NOT good). When mplayer just pass assigned normid directly to v4l2 interface, VLC hardly assignes the choise from subset of only 3 possible values: pal, secam and ntsc. If you assign any numeric, it again, used just as the order of the element of the list of just " pal, secam, ntsc". I've edited ...

Your sound problem in VLC 1.1 is probably due to a known bug in alsa-lib, which is fixed in the alsa-lib git repository (v1.0.21a-15-g8264b2f).

Well I solved the issue myself. I ran vlc in a console and got the following error message: x11 video output error: X11 request 141.19 failed with error code 11: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation) All I had to do was change the video preference from "default" to "x11" and it worked. Hope this helps others with the same issue or similar ones.

Sorry, I think I figured out what might have caused the error although I don't know how to fix it. I was following this guide to try to get global hotkeys to work for my keyboard: http://kollerat.com/cms/index.php/Allgemein/Softwa re/Control-VLC-via-global-hotkeys-xbindkeys-under- Linux.html I tried uninstalling xbindkeys, but that didn't help. Any other ideas as how to fix this? I would guess ...

VLC automatically uses the bith depth of the X11 display. This is a requirement of the X11 protocol. Change the X11 server color resolution if that's really what you want.

Same issue here. Works fine in Windows with the exact same file. Even worse, I just upgraded to 0.9.5 via the VLC repo for opensuse 11.0, and now, it can't play anything . Now it says, it cannot handle the format "XVID", and there is nothing you can do about it. I've tried making sure all installed vlc packages are on the same arch and same version number, with no effect.
