Rs3 When you say..... 1. .....Netanyahu, who announced that he was going to cause Iraq to be militarily defetaed and occupied and declared war against syria, jordan and iran, while stating that if they dared to resist, they would be nuked? 2. ....he said it in the US Senate, in a speech written for him by the people who would become the American Secretary for War and his deputy, and got a rousing ovation for saying it 3. .....electing one of...

"That's nothing compared to wanting to wipe Israel off the face of the world now is it " Well, we have seen on LoST that calling Ahmedinejab a 'Holocaust denier' was merely a ploy based on a semantically incorrect assumption based on a simultaneous translation rather than a true representation of what he said. Well he clearly said he wanted to wipe Israel off the map. That's indisputable. Apparently Arabic...

Intrusive census for Scotland,...

I suspect that although a census in 2011 is purely Scotland's business, other parts of the UK may reckon that the new questions are a good idea: No question about. It's standard procedure; fly a kite in one part of the UK and if few protest then go with it.

A very telling video clip. In it, I saw 2 alleged Muslim men verbally bullying 1 Muslim woman. The Muslim woman had been previously elevated to the peerage by the UK people, thanks to the, on that occasion, the sound judgement of the Tory party. I would be interested in knowing what other people saw in that video clip. Glas. I saw some very rude and agressive young men, who clearly feel very strongly about something..........not quite sure...

the Guardian today launches an open invitation to tax specialists and accountants to attempt to explain the motivation behind such structures. Surely even the Guardian recognises that they have used the wrong word here? Why on earth do you need a tax specialist or accountant to explain the "motivation" for such structures? Can I tell the Guardian that the motivation is, "to reduce Tony Blair's tax...

" I have not come across a democratic defence or justification for any of those four "isms" " I'm disappointed: I thought that an open minded examination of communism as envisaged by Marx demonstrated a very democratic justification of one of your 'isms'. I will agree that the problem with communism is that it is prone to a very poor implementation, but given that one of the countries that...

Should blair/brown be hung?

The OP was really over the top. We should not sink to the use of such hyperbole. Agreed. I challenged a poster directly about it and had my post pulled for being "personally offensive". Oh, the irony. "Sink" is a good word. Back to lurk mode for me.

I might sometimes find the Fool exasperating, but both the depth and the breadth of the knowledge that's collected here does sometimes amaze me. I never knew that there were different 'levels' of resolutions - not that I'd thought about it much, true, but still, it's interesting to know. So thanks, Akiking. That's my "learn one new thing a day" quota sorted.

So, twenty two developing nations have produced a deal, not just discussed it, but produced a deal that will slash tariffs and subsidies and in the meantime the good old countries of the US and the EU continue to squabble amongst themselves believing that the rest of the world is content to wait for another few decades a WTO decision. I haven't checked who these twenty two countries are but you can bet that they will also be developing...

bottle I was from a council estate and went to one of the country's best universities, as did many other back then. You were lucky. After coming through the war and into the workplace the only job I had offered was as a glazier and it was only after many years I found that my IQ is in the top ten percent. I'm grateful to both Australia and New Zealand for the opportunities they both ...

This makes me sick...How many capable people are there out there..unemployed...or "fed Up" who would jump at the chance to do this "demanding" job for a fraction of the cost. Kick these plummy mouthed wasters out...this is beyond a joke.

Hello spitting your post reflects the government/bbc spin on this subject. So the directors of RBS have threatened to all resign if the government refuses to allow them to share out the disgustingly huge bonuses they believe they are entitled to. The directors do not "share out" any bonuses, they are allocated to members of staff - not directors. The government should call their bluff ...

I must say, listening to them, that I don't get the impression that Ed and David Miliband or Peter Mandelson went to the local comprehensive.

and Gordon'll be shaking in his booties at the thought that the BBC will lead on this in tonight's evening news, and bang on about it for days. BBC bottle out. No wonder - the BBC is simply the media wing of the Labour Party.

No 10 said the prime minister had ordered an internal review to ensure the "mistake" would never happen again. I would urge an external review (general election) to ensure the "mistake" ( Labour government) never happens again.

I remember this link being banded around somewhere, I'm tempted to print it out and carry it around in the camera case. It comes from the Met, so not sure how it would be applied outside there though. http://www.met.police.uk/about/photography.htm

The worm is still ploughing away down the same tunnel, and definitely not turning, or even glancing round, at the BBC, which gives us a classic example of how to conjugate the irregular English verb "to say" http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8385069.st m The proposal was backed by the Swiss People's Party (SVP), the largest party in parliament, which claims minarets are a sign of ...

It is common in other countries to register political parties. One purpose is to avoid confusion of the electorate by jokers standing for "parties" which are easily confused with bona fide parties with high recognition. For example:- The Labor Party The LibDemocrat Party The Conservation Party etc. HTH Glas.

Three points occur to me. Firstly, Padbear6000 writes:- ... is this the example of the perfectly reasonable family sharia (law?) that should be allowed it this country? In making the description ?perfectly reasonable?, is Padbear quoting an assertion made by an un-named source (a link or reference would be nice), or is the assertion his own? Secondly, family law in many jurisdictions, ...

This still presents an interesting point though. If the government were really serious about global warming and consistent in applying policy, then they should be taxing all forms of meat heavily like they do the motorist. After all, food production, especially meat, is responsible for so much CO2 emmissions, equal to motoring. But as we all know their policy is a sham and just designed to ...

a travesty but many feel it works like that. The people (typical of those reading this board I suspect) who work, pay their taxes, raise their families have virtually no benefit during periods of unemployment when they need it Those who don't work get paid for it, those who are too lazy to provide for their own children or use contraception get paid for it, and those moving to this country...

GB ?The English approach to libel suggests that the reputation of the claimant is more important than the free speech of the defendant? It is also an anomaly in English law, where defendants are usually presumed innocent until proven guilty.? http://www.spiked-online.com/index.php/site/articl e/7745/ Quite right too in my view. If someone makes a statement about someone then in my view they...

Harmy It's garbage anyway- as if the exchange rate mattered. The yuan would have to strengthen about 50 fold to compensate for the wages paid the Chinese worker and the minute COGS resulting from that wage.
