I believe that sensible debate is being spoiled on LoST Was there ever sensible debate on LoST? IMV LoST serves a useful purpose in keeping the brats occupied and out of the way. There are plenty of other boards on the Fool where sensible debate can take place while we leave the LoST souls to themselves.

As usual, your response is not to continue the debate (having asked for views) but to just put down other posters. Anyway: I'd really love to know what your motivation is for the sterling work you put in on this forum in defence of the New Labour project. Surely you must have some stake in it over and above it being the party you vote for. Ed Balls, is that you? I think this is an attempt to show that the OP has a vested interest in the...

I believe that sensible debate is being spoiled on LoST due to provocative posts that often have little to do with the initial topic. They are designed to simply provoke a reaction and create an arguement in an attempt the stop discussion of serious matters, especially those which are critical of the current govt. There seems to be a theme that there is a deliberate attempt to quash criticism of out current regime in any way possible....

The infamous POSGO has been in existence for just over 3 years now. Has anything actually changed on that board since it's inception ? Yes. There's far less racism and far less name calling than there was.

Hi AwoodbMaven, TMF lemme be a TMF moderator for just one day, please, please, pretty please! Actually, we're thinking of introducing a practical test for potential new TMF moderators - the candidate would have to go a week without breaking any rules and having any posts removed ;-) Cheers, Alan TMFBoing

Conmurf, Thank you for your reply. I did see AWBMaven's grossly insensitive post and I can well understand why you reported it as it hit a new low in ad hominem remarks. I did not want to discuss our circumstances here and I cannot imagine why awb would seek to bring the matter to the notice of posters on this board. I am sure he regrets what he said.

Oui, toi. I had the following post deleted yesterday from LoST. Now, I have to say that, in my view, and given the obvious proclivities of richasdotcom, it's fair comment. Someone decided otherwise, however, and reported the post which was subsequently deleted. It would be interesting if Fools gave me their view as to why the post was deleted to see just how close they come to the ...

I never used to enter, read or contribute to this board, but have now being doing so for some time. I really thought it was about the Name. CIVIL discussion board. I am now totally disillusioned. The kind of postings on here should be a sort of antidote to LoST, but they seem to be a continuence of that board with lots of sniping, sarcasm and nastiness which have nothing to do with ...

Why was this post deleted? Is Michael Moore a member? The Clinton administration is directly responsible for engendering one of the biggest financial catastrophies in history. It forced the banks to get drawn into the sub-prime fiasco. Up to that point, capitalism was working perfectly well: the banks were operating in their own best interests and avoiding lending to people it knew ...

A whole branch of my family lived in East Africa for a generation. They spoke Aymeric, worked for the UN, CIA et al. When I grew up, their experiences were formative in my understanding of Africa. Indeed they were one of the early reasons why I travelled all over the world, and continue to do so. Unfortunately it seems that I am not allowed on TMF to tell you what those family members...
