3 men die in a car crash on Christmas Eve and are standing outside the Pearly Gates. St Peter says that to be seasonal they must each show him something connected with Christmas to be allowed in. The first man pulls a sprig of mistletoe from his pocket and St Peter says 'OK you can pass'. The second man pulls his Christmas letter to Santa from his pocket and St Peter says 'OK, you're in,too.' Brit executed in China
Published (2009-12-29 11:12:00)
Personally I have much more sympathy for this man than the guy who hacked into the US computer systems and admitted he did and has now has been conveniently diagnosed with Aspergers to try and avoid extradition. I think trying to avoid a sentence is very different to trying to avoid the death penalty. Whilst I don't disagree - isn't it actually the same for the hacker guy, as the state they are sending him to has the death penalty...

Music in pubs x-post
Published (2009-12-29 12:51:00)
When in UK, one of the few reasons that I find persuasive for not going into Wotherspoon's pubs is the absence of music. In Madrid two of the places that we use with any regularity, out of four, have music in the background or fore ground. I would go out of my way to come to the Snug more if we had a piano playing. TK According to George Michael, there is a gay man in every straight man waiting to burst out (akin to inside every fat person is a thin person screaming for another eclair). Rugby = Gareth ? = coming out. Old Chinese proverb say "....he who denyeth the loudest...is a poof". Herbs

A seventeen year old paperboy ? Back in the good old days I used to deliver the papers from my pram, pulled round the streets by the family dog, Sally. We were apprentice gas fitters at the age of eleven and senior engineers by sixteen. I don't agree with the death penalty so I think ultimately they were wrong. On the other hand, if that was the prescribed penalty for the offence, if he did it and knew the consequences and due process was adhered to then in one sense they were right. John

My mother is Chinese and so food is very important to her ( and me). This year my wife bought a packet of fried crickets for me to eat as a dare, I brought them out on Xmas day and had to snatch them away from my mum to stop her scoffing the lot! She still cooks the best spare ribs and chinese style chicken wings ever! I remember once a year on New Years Eve (English not Chinese) the ...

I voted "Other" - I'm sitting in with the current mrs dvy, she's watchingthe telly and I'm on the pooter. We've just had a celebratory mince pie - not so much Christmas, but I received an offer of a new job today, to start in the New Year. So it will still be a frugal Christmas, but at least we have something to look forward to now.

You're missing the point. Many people are like the Royles, and think it's terribly funny that there is a TV program which shows that most people sit in front of telly talking platitudes just like they do. And never say anything funny at all, just like they don't. Funny? No. Weird? Yes. Utter garbage.
