problem identified! Where the inlet manifold had to fit to the engine block, part of the casting had eroded, and that had been overlooked by the engine shop when rebuilding. Will be fixed. Still does not mean I am not stupid, but at least this case does not support that eventuality . Alexander

If it is running at 82° then that is fine. A bit cold really. They prefer to run around 90°C for optimum use. If the fans are staying on though you should change the fan switch for a hotter one or even better get an adjustable one. You can then play with the settings. Try to get them turning on around 85-90°C and they should turn off again around 80°C Craig.

Yes, after you left I sat and wept. I think your books recommend running rovers cooler rather than hotter, so this is probably fine.

i actually turned some brass bushes to go into the alloy bracket to stiffen the whole thing up. I intend to add a separate bracket to stiffen it up a bit further. Adrian

hi, Regarding the type, I have an Rv8 with Sierra pedal box and use the donor car cable. Fitted fine, just needed a minor mod to the clutch arm in the bell housing. my advice though about the cable....don't. I had a cable clutch in mine for the first 18months, it was stiff and with every press I expected it to go ping. I've been out on a few drives with people who've had cables ...

i'd dump the grill anyway - my car ran cooler without it, and the car looks immensely better sans grill. ofcourse, you might then hole your radiator. you could also try changing to a slightly hotter fan switch temp - plenty to choose from. But I'll defer to mr sidecar who's the local expert, imho.

Don't know to much about the ford V6, but does it have wet liners? if so they are usually sealed with 2 orings at the bottom, it is very is easy to catch one of them as they are pressed in. Have done it several times whilst fitting liners into large diesels. Just a thought. Russ

Hi Dave, I asked this question and Wilf recommended the carter, as I am running a 351 Cleveland and he does know his stuff I would only use the carter off his recommendation. A friend used the holley but its the other bits that go with it that makes the whole set up pricey! I have booked one from Repower 2 months ago but I recently chased it and the bad news is they wont have them in stock until...
