Well after a really stressful christmas day, and almost crashing my car on the way home from the folks', I finally sat down to watch this at 11 o'clock. And what did RTD give me, what was his bloody Christmas present to me? This. This...this... Fantastic hour of telly! Seriously I was probably just in exactly the right mood to watch it and maybe on second viewing I won't like it nearly as much, but on first viewing at least, I...

Poll: The Time Lords (SPOILERS!!!)
Published (2009-12-25 23:17:00)
I think they're going to be back for good, so that Moffat can use them if he wants to. I actually quite liked the 'last of the Timelords' backstory but you can do some pretty interesting things with them, especially if they turn out to be not so nice. Also, if they get killed off again, then how's Dalton telling us the story?

Heads Up: Tennant & Co ....
David Tennant is hosting Never Mind the Buzzcocks, BBC 2 16/12/09. Pannelists included the lovely Catherine Tate and the excellent Bernard Cribbins. And a Dalek.
Just seen a clip. Looks very amusing!

I thought it sucked! The revelation that Wilf was Rassilon all along was just terrible, and I hated the Rose and Alt10 song and dance routine. Seriously the Sally Sparrow/Donna snog under the misteltoe was the only thing that made this bearable.

Nah, it's vague enough, I think (the s is the problem?)
My thought is to bring them back. Although I was hoping that, if they were brought back, it was through a heroic action by the Doctor (they strike me here as being pretty villainous). Time Lords aren't always good, but they at least seemed to protect time in the past, not seek to destroy it (and laugh maniacally).

Holy shit, I got as far as the establishing shot of the city on Gallifrey with that music before being blown away by the pure awesome of that.

I'll be annoyed if the Judoon don't return at some point. I'm hoping Moffat will bring the Sontarans back again too (not RTD monsters but I like them!)
I'd still like to see the Krillitaines again at some point too.

Re: The Writer's Tale: The Final Chapter
Yes I'm going to pick this edition up since I missed out on the last one. It never did see the first edition in Chapters or any other book store here.

I feel like I'm in some bizarro world where everyone is choosing The Underwater Menace (which is rightly so, since it is the best episode ever )
However, all 4 stories are good although The Highlanders, while Jamie's first story, is probably the poorer of the 4, and the other two stories are much more highly rated by fandom as a whole (Power and Fury being rightly held up as two ...

I believe that fandom will rationalize any conclusion they wish to make in any way they please.
I personally take the comments in The Journey's End as a deliberate slap to the TV Movie's notion of a half-human Doctor.
