Uh huh, you come in and make a random post comparing Nolan's and Burton's movies to eachother. Ugh. Moving on. Anyone else love that Returns was set at Christmas time? I love the snow effect on Gotham City. It makes for some beautiful imagery. Especially in the scenes on the snowy rooftops of Gotham. And at Penguin's Zoo lair.

Keep in mind Batman was also just starting out. Once Batman Returns rolls along, like with TDK , Batman is more well-known and the superstition about him has dissipated. It's the natural evolution of the character.

Blew up my mind back in the day and it's still one of the most solid superhero movies for me. It opened new doors, broke some grounds and set thee new rules after the magnificent Superman TM.
For me it had the perfect comnbination between icon, comics, darkness and entertainment.
Sure it had flaws but the goodies outrun them.

1. No. They tried to fix things and made Batman from a psycho into the superhero he is.
2. Strange. I am not going to defend the B&R crap, but the real Nightwing origin needs Superman, so that's too much for a movie.

I like George Clooney as a person. But Val Kilmer was the best Batman out of them two.
George seemed too friendly and fatherly to me.

Well it may be my fourth favorite but I second that it is a great movie and probably the most artistic and creative Batman movie made to date. I'd also say Burton explored these characters far deeper and used a much richer cinematic vernacular in telling his story that pulled heavily from German Expressionism, film noir, grande guignol, etc. than in B'89.

Worst then B&R....Scarecrow was gonna be one of the main villians using his fear toxin to bring Joker back to life....Mad Hatter was gonna be in the game too...Harley Quinn was gona be Joker's daughter...Would of been terrible....Glad was never made.

Honestly, the nipples still don't bother me. The kitsch-ness does a little, and non-threatening Two-Face. I would have loved to have seen a proper origin for him rather then Riddler.
Set design was awsome, truly awsome, the cave looks incredible.
Always had a soft spot for Forever, my dad took me on a surprise visit to see it. First Batman movie.
